Today is similar to yesterday,
Quite possibly a preview of tomorrow,
Repetition of sameness,
Highlighting moments of miracle.

when 'it's all the same to you'
for same is tame, lame
when I want to play the game
two-up in a frame aflame

Christmas Traditions

Tradition is a lovely thing.

It binds our past and the future.

Remembering the way it’s always been,

Hoping the comfort of sameness endures.

As the year was ending
A rain came washing through,
From opened chutes it poured
      and flowed
And from the wetness new
A different sameness starts.

Pure joy, absolute madness,
Complete opposites aligned in their sameness,
Returning the owner to similar places as they subside,
The journey of life is filled with surprises.

Sameness

Track this light through 
my always
And this fact to our never...
Thrust this test into wonder,
And fracture away from this
...this sameness of us,
with hearts in too deep

As poverty grows
in this place once of plenty...
addled world collides

So many cultures
quenched for masters of sameness...
two worlds colliding.

Pops up when

Difference is known

Lonely and Unfulfilled

lonely were his days
a ridiculous sameness 
unfulfilled always

never volunteered
never helped anyone else
never liked himself

drifted into death
mailman finally missed him
alerted the police

Oppression

The ego plaintiff's tool ~ oppression,
lest the house be ruled by God with intercession,
the sameness ranks and duels with fool's content ~ obsession,
and heart's song ranks with fools, in its regression!

Unique In Our Similarities

People are people wherever you go
An astounding revelation, similarities do show
Like breathing in air
Loving with flair
Content in our sameness, as life rock 'n rolls!

there is an intense 
ageless quality to an 
autumnal day in October 
that embraces the past, and all 
its wistful tenderness 
the present and its disturbing sameness 
and the future, with its unknown quantity 
of joy and sadness

blood line prevalent.

When The link is blood
the brain a mind of its own...
tolerance prescribed.

Honour each other
respect is earned not a gift...

within and as Grace come
the man on the donkey
the sounds of shouting
the voices of caution
and the quiet stones..
Grace as your Wholeness
expresses...

The Notice Change

We were once rivers,
braiding through each other’s lives,
carving valleys of shared wonder.

Now we float in bubbles,
soft-walled sanctuaries of sameness,
drifting past one another
with eyes turned inward.

The more we seal our edges,
the less we feel the ripple,
of another’s breath.

Wellness

Walking upright whole and able
Exercising each day push back from table
Live to the fullest each minute of day
Love as much and many as one may
Newness expect from life's deck of cards
Enter each game ready as a bard
Sameness only in daily routine
Serve others in many ways help their self-esteem

our unique Sameness

be who you are
we are taught..
those who know
who they are
and are
who they are:
these are teachers
temporary teachers
who offer a word
or a brushstroke
or a glance
wiping clean our
cloudy perceptions..
allowing then our
perceiving to shine
with our very own
unique Sameness...

Today I Sing

I sing because I have changed up my day.
I laugh because I am a different woman.
Every day was the same, monotonous.
Every day, a pattern of lethargic resign-ment-of-sameness.
Making me feel dull.
Irritated me.
Not today.
I changed it all up.
Today I am happy!
Today I am powerful.
Today I am new.
Today I sing!

People Are Strange

people are strange....
the world is full of 
odd ducks 
people are strange....
the world is full of 
characters 
people are strange....
odd is the new norm
normal is the new odd
people are strange....
unique is in 
sameness is out
people are strange....
individuality is key
coke cutter is out
people are strange....

By choice, 
the nature of the heart 
is guarded 
by secrets not freely disclosed.

If your heart emotes a signal 
both soft and old,
an ancient longing you can’t withhold,
a glimpse or glimmer maybe bestowed.
In silent speech you may detect
a feeling of familiar sameness
and wonder at the wonder 
have we ever been met?

Dividing up sides

Assault rifles on

The reds
The blues
The greens
The yellows

We laugh at our diversity
Knowing our sameness 
Is what really matters

The media wins.
And we sit by
And let them.

Bad Habits Creep Up

It happens gradually
A second at a time
Creeping up so gradually
We are not aware it is happening
Until we are caught in the web of sameness
Entwined in the woven pattern of inane habitualness
Spending mindless hours entangled in our own laziness
Repetitive movements daily we no longer enjoy
Losing energy so fast we do not try to break these habits
