Father -- role model
Chooses words so carefully
Nurtures his image...
In back rooms, behind closed doors
Shocks me with vulgarity

Little Star

Twinkle twinkle little star;
divine you glow from afar.

Your spark conquer's sky's darkness;
everyone gets awed at your essence.

You are my best role model;
my past's shadows I rebel!

Role Model

i got my own morals
because i got no role models
i got my past mistakes to look at
so i don't fall when i stumble or crumble
the future petrifies me
especially when they say i imitate someone

Here’s how you do it
   Let me show you
Be it art, music, or carpentry
   A role model is key

Yet when it comes to parenting
   Not every parent shows
For not every parent is qualified
As their children all too well know

My Hero

Her hair brown like the warm wet sand on the beach.
her skin tan just like her favorite shirt.
two jobs in one day but never one complaint.
And her personality, so happy, to match her life.
My inspiration, my role model, my mother.

A Father Is

A father is
A son, an uncle
A husband, a cousin
A brother
But these are just labels
To me, he's greater
Bigger than my world world once
He could hold me in his arms
A leader, a friend
A role-model
A father is so much more

Premium Member The Rest Unknown

A coach?
A role model?
A hero?
Maybe
to somebody.
Perhaps
you made up
for your cowardice
somewhere else
with someone else.
A father?
I wouldn't know.
Maybe to
another child.
To me
an abandoner,
the rest unknown.

Premium Member You should Meet His Mother

twitchy, fidgety, nervous Lee
frightened of you, frightened of me
we are not scary, so how can that be?
you should meet his mother said Meridee

She’s as high strung as a mean high wire
snappish, waspish, angry, a non-hire
jittery, jumpy, nervous, nasty too
Lee’s only role model is his mama Sue

Gimmick

I'm yours
put your truth upon my words
what if the role model
just playing a role
Forgiveness just to impress
always trying to be the greatest me
i have to go
my tears are blinding me
If hope looked like something what
do you think that would be
I'm somewhere between light
and the darkness taking over

Rebekah

loudest was the music from her parties
loudest was her audacity
to come in a town
and challenge the town’s rules
stole neighbor’s dog
and sent a clear message

her degraded reputation
and unnoticed kindness
got her a tag of mad woman
never scared of bringing change
Now a role model
For women in her age

Every day she is the same,
Demonstrating beauty worthy of the name.
Mother of three and loving wife,
To them she is committed all of her life.
Motivator to many in all things good,
Loved by all in the neighborhood.
Angelic in appearance, word and deed,
Beautiful role model to all, indeed!

that's the height of a star
my role model was a rap star
though he's now deceased
places i'd love to trade
to understand how it feels
living in people's memories
there's a life after death
so i shouldn't be afraid of death
because once in my lifetime
i'd get to spend my time
in a place that's full of quiet
admiring my star's height.

painting PINK

In memory of Clara Anderson—artist--beloved aunt, mother and role model

Clara had her breasts removed
Long before Pink was beloved
Bravely faced the doctors knife
Mother’s friend and navy wife

Clara danced on 30 years
Battled pain
Laughed through tears
And her paint brush
Carried on
Splashed her color
Like a song

Shaken

She does not dress to empress
It is only there to cover her body
She does not anticipate success
It is engraved in her name
Chill!!!

The change in the air
Is the courage
The reflex of the skills
Is the maturity
Cheer!!

She does not blend the rules
It is there to be formulated
She does not have a role model
It is there to be nurtured
She is here......

Premium Member Ode To Sleek Greyhound

Sleek and smooth greyhound
A more refined pup we have never found
You are the one we look up to for sure
Your loveliness an example of brilliance so pure.’

You are an example that makes our species proud.
You do it subtly and serenely, not in any way loud.
Sleek and smooth greyhound, this is written for you.
You are my role model, so tried, treasured and true.

Her model is me
She created a modern human
Dark with the light
Where is the light?
She kept it safe on her safe

She's my role model
I whim I have a role in her life
She has a big heart
Kept in God
How would I get it?
Should I go to God
Mybe her church got the answer

She's my perfect
Extraordinary
Sometimes I think she is
Extraterrestrial
