Behind Closed Doors

Father -- role model
Chooses words so carefully
Nurtures his image...
In back rooms, behind closed doors
Shocks me with vulgarity

I don't think so. I just think that it's characteristic of someone who wants to cover up his dark side. Thanks so much for the feedback. Best wishes, gw

A case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde... happens far too often. Good poem, Gershon.

can sadly relate with my own father GW not with vulgarities but he made out he was something he wasn't and it galls when I hear folk heaping praise on him when they never really knew him:-( hugs Jan xx

Wow. Very similar experiences we had, Jan, although I can't say that I was bitter toward my father in any way. In many ways he was an immigrant trying to hold his own in a dog-eat-dog rat race. :) gw
