A Lady of the Night took fright
When she saw her customer's plight

Held a glass slipper
On a Monday, nothing goes right!...

Jack
There they lie
in the street
cut from head to feet
five victims in all
Policemen will call
and the Princes will fall
Because nobody knows at all

In the dead of this cold foggy night,
is this the spirit of Jack the Ripper
or the Boston Strangler prowling
the silent streets...
or someone’s imagination running wild?

Romantic face
Our love is discreet,
Cellulite can's be beat,
That would be a ripper,
If I were a female stripper,
Romance-inherent in our race,
Love has a beautiful face,
Express true feelings.
Your rose sent me reeling,
Enchanting magic fills the air,
Love appears anywhere!...

And the Night Became the Dark
Do you think God is the greatest serial killer
as everything dies
Could never murder my wife
She would kill me
If Jack The Ripper was in his thirties
what had he been doing for all the years before
Man became a monster
and life lost light
and the night became the dark...

Jack the Ripper
Jack the Ripper,
As a savage nipper,
Possibly slashed his toys,
And didn’t play with other boys.

Jack the Ripper
May have liked kipper,
But he ate a kidney one day -
Or, at least, so people often say.

Butcher
Scans from side to side,
Bag of tricks in his damp hand,
Breathing heavy now,
Hears voices and creeps away,
Unobserved in the dense fog.

Spots a lone woman,
Approaches, raises his hat,
She smiles, takes his arm,
He knows she doesn’t suspect
That he is Jack the Ripper…

Retina Picture
The surgeons took a photograph
And saw her killer pictured there,
Imprinted on her retina:
The Ripper’s face upon her stare.

*People used to believe that the last thing a person saw before death was imprinted on the retina and this was tried in the Jack the Ripper case – I just imagined if it had worked…

For Deb’s ‘What do you make of this?’ contest (the eye picture)...

Premium Member Mending the Blanket
I spread my blanket
Quickly on the bed
I see a small hole
With needle and thread
I begin to mend
Working very slow
I begin to mind
My cat suddenly
Jumps onto the bed
I had to remove

Pin cushion and ripper
She sat on the blanket
Exactly where I
Was mending the hole
I was unable
To sew the blanket
Instead I smiled
As she stared at me
I gave her a hug....

Premium Member Lost Containment
The stitches seemed so sturdy
Holding it all together
All was safely contained
No danger of spread or mess
All neatly packed away
No one worried about a fallout
The pieces had become just Peace
With no one wanting to undo it

One dream was all it took
Like a seam ripper in the night
Those stitches came unraveled
And all came tumbling out
The tears, the pain, the tortured silence
I guess that's why REM
Is the end of the world as I know it...

Weredog, Part Ii
...But of course the sun banished the moon,
Ripper woke his normal size,
his stomach quite big from the rib roast,
but otherwise he seemed fine.
At first, I feared what all this might mean,
I thought that he’d need a cure,
everyone has seen werewolf movies,
but soon enough I had learned
that men may turn to ravenous beasts
in such a situation,
but weredogs don’t face human demons,
just yearn for our attention.

…though the ‘treats’ are getting expensive....
