So Long Death, Welcome Jesus

Is one to burn in hell?
Say business of sin owell!

God is holy; God is good
Rescues like Red Robbing Hood!

So let Jesus into your heart
And from spiritual death depart!

What Does the Fox Say

Vulpine barhopper
bays pick up line to new moon
Mama-dum-day-do

Feline target wails
unsheathing sharp claws to show
Hatee-hatee- ho

Grizzly bouncer comes
rescues feline in distress
Pa-pa-pa-pa-pow!

God gives

God gives Mankind
Noble quality to be kind

God made man free
To see the world glee

God has sown seeds
In man for noble deeds

God has given senses
In man knowing denses

God readily rescues
Man who is in muse

Unraveling Faith

I
Tangles
Life in bang - les and jangles
One angle
Unravels the tangles
One bang - le at a time

II
My only angle
Of untying any tangle
Is to hop on Faith - plane
Even if time made it a debris jungle
Faith rescues me every time

Coma of Peace

Sleep has become my savior
Dreams now my manifest destiny
Construing the world for me
Calming the chaos of my waking mind
My conscious plays little games
To create a sense of order
Then some sort of Messiah rescues me
And gives me blissful shelter
Why wouldn't I want to sleep forever?

Golden Ram

A fortune teller told the Golden Ram
The boy would slit his throat and hang his fleece.
‘Oh, what an ingrate,’ cried the ram in shock.
He then refused to help and grew obese.

* just some silliness - in the real version, the Golden Ram rescues Phrixus and then the boy sacrifices him

Only You

I don’t know how,
But, I know who
Only one has seen me through.
I don’t know when
But, I know now
That true love is more than a spell.
I don’t know where
But, I know what
Rescues me when I’m in a rut
I don’t know if,
But, I know why
I have these wings that allow me to fly.

Natures Ill Moments

Touching warm rains
blinking sun feigns
foolish clouds try to sweep
thunder shutters all.

winds combining to stir
darkness steps in to warn
that a storm has brewed
lighting startles the sky

nature held in captivity
time has been uprooted
beauty has been stricken
till the rainbow rescues all.

He Rescues Me

Why do I feel so low today? I trust that if I kneel and pray, my sincere appeal for help will convey high hopes He’ll hold my troubles at bay. By default, I get off-keel and lose my way, sigh, and say, “Lord, heal my hurt; dispel my dismay.”

Zen mode

if attention be absent, then we are not present in as not quite so in active mindful cognition thus Turiya as screen of consciousness dims for awhile its resplendent lustre as presence languishes in stupor softening attention rescues us with ego resistance removed requiring active negation in a mode of surrender to the light of Self aflame within

Always on my mind

You are everything I have got
You are always on my mind
Your beautiful face lulls me to sleep nightly
And rescues me mightily
From terrible nightmares
And so I can embrace the world
Every day with a smile
In the midst of gloom and despondency
You inspire me to face the world
With hope and determination
My guardian angel keep watch over me
The world is too scary to traverse all alone

Quicksand

Sometimes life can seem like quicksand.
Without the band.
It is a journey unplanned.
Uncharted the road

Struggling without direction.
Loses all protection.
It plummets one in deep reflection.
Down to the bottom.

From decades ago a hand reaches out.
Help is there no doubt.
Hope inspires your joy to shout.
Love rescues!

Divine Mission

To exalt the Lord in obeying Him
Is my divine mission as His servant…
Sharing His Gospel* that rescues the lost
From sin’s wages in hell’s fire-torment
That they will receive gift of life
Eternal, assured by His pure, precious Word,
By their faith in the Saviour Jesus.

*Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.

Snow Angels

As children
a snow angel was
a lovely
shape made by
joyful, flapping jumping jacks
on your back in snow

As adults
a snow angel is
someone who
rescues you
from grueling grunt work of snow
mountains blown aside

___

This Shadorma form poem was written in heartfelt appreciation of a kind neighbor who saw my snow shoveling misery and rescued me with their snowblower (before this wicked Midwest Winter totally finished me off)!

My Views Give Some News

People will tell their views

Confusion, they produce

To guide, they may refuse

To worry, instead induce

Advising, they ever choose

The don't helpfully muse

Tension, they finely infuse

They will expertly accuse

Our peace, they reduce

By denying our dues

So, have no blues

I have given some clues

Though God rescues

Our wisdom if is loose

We surely then lose

If truth we don't abuse

Our peace accrues.

A Gift Called a Day

The flowers of the field, in the dark waiting,
their god to arise, and the sky painting.

When they come alive, their colors beaming,
with the breeze swaying, and of rain dreaming.

Lightning and thunder, never is their fear,
for it brings the rain, which they hold so dear.

Yet it is the sun, and its blessed hand,
that rescues the soul, and restores the land.

Then its promise sky, that tomorrow shine,
a gift called a day, of roses and wine!

Transporter

He's a transporter, and he doesn't even know it
he's the door, that opens to light
he's a protector, till storms quit
he's the silent fighter, to darkest night

he's a silver shadow, that's made of steel
he's a mountain forest, that draws me
where l can hide, beneath its trees
till dangers gone and he rescues me

there's snow and ice in the pale sky
he says don't look up, and don't ask why
yes he's a transporter, and he doesn't even know it
yes he's a protector, till storms quit.
