Snow Angels

As children
a snow angel was
a lovely
shape made by
joyful, flapping jumping jacks
on your back in snow

As adults
a snow angel is
someone who
rescues you
from grueling grunt work of snow
mountains blown aside

___

This Shadorma form poem was written in heartfelt appreciation of a kind neighbor who saw my snow shoveling misery and rescued me with their snowblower (before this wicked Midwest Winter totally finished me off)!

Yeah, you're back (and with the wonderful Shadorma form) this is so touching and wise-

Thank you!! Yes, I'm trying to get back in the swing of things... and what better way than with a Shadorma poem? ;)

Loved this, just the other day a city plough came by saw me shoveling and cleared the end of my driveway for me! I was shocked at the kindness!

I know what you mean! People around here don't generally act very friendly or helpful... but I guess this miserable weather manages to bring out the humanity in some! ;)

The "snow job" becomes really real to those who made sense of it with "Santa Claus". Aloha! Rico

What contrast from the idyllic days of childhood when snow was a beautiful fun time to being an adult and having to deal with clearing it up, you really have a true 'snow angel to help you:-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks! Yes, I'm beginning to understand why Midwesterners never seem excited about snow! In the South, there would be a pitiful attempt at a snowman in almost EVERY SINGLE YARD after 2 inches of snowfall! ;) Here, everybody dreads it... even kids (who are old enough to wield a shovel). *hugs*

I am jumping up and down with snow angel glee! Welcome back! I have missed you so much! So glad you are here, and I know you are not lying under the tundra that is there today and will be there all week! "joyful, flapping jumping jacks" is me seeing you on Poetry Soup today, my friend!

Thank you, my friend!! I am too tired and sore to do any flapping or jumping jacks... but am very happy to be here and see your comment! ;)
