Rebirth
Winter lacks a fresh air balm
Her sunshine rends little heat
Spring lilacs bloom in glory
Too warm, Winter sleeps...

Oh this hour is ill
rends those it should reunite
together as one,
yet my wings from you in flight
time it is to say goodbye.

Be especially careful, you who would teach
Observe well the depth of your reach

A moment's slip, imperceptible, on your part
Rends the fabric of a pupil's heart...

Than-Bauk's 1
River in spate
Ruler’s great speech
Our fate unhinged.

Afternoon sun
Only son comes
When none expects.

The pain that sends
A chill bends will
And rends the heart....

Country Farmhouse
No building long survives Time’s hurricane,
It scatters shingles, rends each roof
And bares the rafters to the rain,
The skeleton of walls stands proof
That nothing fashioned by mere Man endures aloof....

Lullaby 2

wind voices speak wild words
above an eider down of dreams
and nighted owl sleeps close to the trunk
when November rends our sky

rain changes from her silks
and whitened raiment wears
as winter casts its nets of frost
across the naked bowers...

Peppercorns
If each peppercorn was a life,
each is saddled in surrender
of shunless damnation.
They dwell in anguish--
death row prisoners.
They huddle together
awaiting torsion
as the grinder rends
the season from their body.
All that remains is dust
milled over an entrée....

My Green Garden
Greens shed abroad
With floral blooms of different hues
Butterflies and birds enthralled
Beautiful slumbers of morning dews.
Wonderful touch of fireflies
At night, the cool breeze mates my skin.
Intoxicated by the scent that rends the airs,
'Come to my garden,Sandy' All I'm asking....

Rain 'Pon the Windowsill
The rain pon the windowsill
The pounding of my heart
The sound that looms round
the empty room
And rends my soul apart

The pillow next, not damp like mine
unslept on lo these many years
yet stained a bit with drops of wine
Spilled along with bitter tears
That beleaguer me and always will
Like the rain upon
...The window sill…...

Reactions
That's all she wrote,
It was all my doing,
The words she spoke,
Heavy and looming.

All my reactions,
Of anger and pain,
Because of her actions,
On me, a stain.

I tried my best,
To get you back,
You needed a vest,
For all my flak.

I'm sorry this is how it ends,
There's no other option I see,
My heart, it rends,
To be set free....

Cadence
once...
I wrote a song for you
lyrics sung of crescent moons
of stars on ceilings glowing, too
all of this I did for you

once...
I took a long shot chance
when you asked me for a dance
mirrors reflected a sideways glance
adding to the ambiance

once...
I had a vivid dream
that your heart could not foresee
nonexistent cadence rings
and rends it crimson at the seams...

I Go
This moment expands,
stretching out beyond my knowing.
Hands hold my head as
tears touch me.
I comfort you in your grief,
smile gently to ease your loss,
and do not speak of the pain that
rends us.

Alone now, the cool breeze
lifts me and I go.
I do not cast my mind back to
what was, nor ahead to what
could be.

This moment expands,
stretching out beyond my knowing....

Premium Member It Will Be Nice
it will be so sweet
when christmas takes a back seat
and avalanche ends

predictable rends
to credit card and pocket
new years time to look

for left over sales
while the bank accounts pale
stuff comes to the door

theres no room for more
so i buy six different ales
to unfurl the sails

and drift on the winds
while old man winter begins
his snow cold chagrin

Regret
And all the shattered shards of her
Spinning glitter in the neon
Reflections of other rends
dancing in moments of then
Cold sand cold rain
manic moonless stardust
stuttering uttering teardrops
In all the spinning shards of her
Drawn to dance again
Mirrored smoky ghosts
Of how it was
And all the shattered shards of her
Coalesce for just an instant
In peripheral torment...

Ottava Rima Lost To Love
Tasting loss of leaves before the Dagar winds
Its tracks of his mean cuts through her heart and trees

could somehow bar twice his ice before it rends
and strips her bare till she falls unto her knees

She would find the strength that willingly defends
his faulted love that comes and goes but never frees

If not his deepest empathy, Mine and thine
to mend her broken branches, we must entwine!...

Love's Fragile Shoots
Hybrid seed planted on rocky ledge
Shallow shoots baring tomorrow's dreams
Sunny vistas lure fragile roots to the edge
Clouded visions hover distilled with availing streams
Prevailing winds scour surface, growing strains hedge
Cool, night air shivers; a paring frost rends fibrous seams
Blighting fears preen stalk but fealty's sustenance cannot dredge
Morn's warming rays on your fortified residual gleams...

''Emma''
Congratulations our pageant queen:
Days and nights you nurtured nicety
Like florist watching bud to petal;
You starved yourself amidst abundance
Nursing the shape , keeping the fitness;
Today all eyes are forgotten on you,
King and Queen’s mouths in agape;
All craning out necks on their toes
To have a glimpse of the newest queen:
Emma, Emma, Emma rends the air.

Threadbare
the delicate fabric rends
once intricately meshed
carefully woven together by loving hands

beautifully it hangs
the cloth, pleasing to the eye
colorful hues in a fashionable design

underneath--tattered and shredding
worn from friction and resistance
strings now falling on the ground

the delicate fabric rends
once intricately woven
carefully meshed together by loving hands
now frayed and flawed....threadbare...

Power's Weakness
The crazed obsession
to rule the lives of others
rends the ruler's humanity
    into tatters,
feeds, fills and bloats
    his overweening vanity,
deludes the ego
    with invincibility.

But stripped of his mask,
    the tyrant shall fall apart
for pomp and vainglory hide
    a sham, hollow heart
of a cursed, cowering canine
    that creeps to crawl
through labyrinthine caves
of what's left of his soul!...

Bite
There is a thin line between anxious, nail-biting life and bitter buried death.
Though we tread carefully the tightrope has been lit by the match of time.
Let us hem these charbroiled rends that the ones we loved have spoiled, in an attempt to pull us down.
With heart mottled arms we reach into perilous seas.
To find a siren singing her eardrum bashing hymn. Is this love?
I think I will just hook my baited heart and cast once more. Bite.

Premium Member In the Tub
She sinks into wetness,
releasing a long sigh,
becomes suffused
with the heat
seeping into her bones.

With eyes closed,
she's drifting -
the world outside,
with all it’s turmoil,
slowly fading.

The spider moves
along the rim,
black legs in motion.

Sensing a presence,
her eyes spring open.
A scream rends the silence.

A hasty exit -
water churning,
bathtub abandoned,
wet footprints leading out.

The spider crawls on,
oblivious....
