Lizzie Antionette
Lizzie Antoinette

I knew a princess
who ruled her kingdom
From the tip of her nose
she looked down.

Her father was relegated
to celibacy
Because she considered them
competition....

once pride of parlor
now relegated to porch
along with old muddy boots

once proud and regal
now standing ignored and scorned
by busy household members

only tired farmer
appreciates chair's comfort
as he sits to remove boots...

In Quest
IN QUEST

You laid down my rights
In your ennobled embrace
I relegated them into minds margin
Lest they bother us,
In our high noon revelry
I roam, carefree, for you are alive.

Lips down the isthmus, unto
rolling hills and dales, in quest
for the golden fleece, I may not find
in a lifetime....

A Love Letter To Josephine De Beauharnais
My emotions are explosive.
My pretenses are relegated
to the depths.
I cannot my feelings
anymore conceal.
Let me come in and
share your heavenlies
and tumults with you.
Tomorrow never comes.
Let me this day your
swift response hear.
Or else in suspense
I'll live and die
countless before the
much awaited moment....

Flowers, chocolates, songs, candle light
dinner, poems.
Some of the ways a gentleman seeked
the love of a lady.
Modern times, has relegated some of
these romantic manners of courting.

Once the gentleman gained the love
of his beloved, routine is the custom.
Causing in many occasions that love
die.
Love is like a flower. You have to water
it every day.

Quixotic
Quickly, sword in hand, he dashes to the battlefield,
Undaunted by booming cannons aimed right at him,
Inured to adversities far greater than his tiny shield,
Xpecting to wage his lonely fight, though not to win.

Only his soul knows what he really and truly wants,
To be a worthy foe or just an annoying mosquito?
In the end he is forgotten, mere footnote in history,
Crushed, wasted, relegated to the bin of ignominy....

A Weight To Bear
Like unkind words once said in anger
And heavy on the soul they lay
As dead leaves falling to the ground
Seemingly forever there to stay.

Like the ever fading, rotten leaves
The angry words they will not last
As they hope to be forgotten and
Soon to be relegated to the past.

So let not the past be filled with guilt
Brought forward like a weight to bear
Drop the chain and look toward a future
Filled with kind words of love and care....

No Love To Sow
At one point in my life, I had much love to yield
And now my heart; is a fallowed field

That has been overworked and sadly underfed,
It is now a place in which to bury the dead

Feelings relegated to dank shadowed tombs,
Oh, how I wish I had never left the womb

Warm and safe; I was never unprotected
Until cruelly expelled into a world so neglected

At one point in my life, I had much love to yield
And now my heart; is a fallowed field....

A Warning Or a Prayer, You Take Your Pick.
Don't be a deadbeat
Beat poet actor man --
because I need you to
SUCK IT UP
understand? what I'm trying to say?
Kerouac and Ginsberg
loved and fled and
hated domesticity, but somehow
relegated their women to it
and liked their domestic money
to buy pretty domestic drugs
and Burroughs
SHOT his wife
(albeat on accident --
deadBEAT tell me the sym-bo-lism
in THAT).
Grow up and love ME
like you were meant to --
and
do. your. own. laundry....

Vague Love
Two hearts entwine in ecstasy
Fantasy of impossibility,
Where acceptability from parent
Is vague and blank ,
But their love is deep
Full of passion and emotions,
Two teenage hearts fused together ,
Blind to the world,…ready to fly ,
Oblivion of their future..,
Education….
Love lifted up ,others relegated…
What will put asunder ?
Maturity…or religion or class…
It looks like a mirage ,
And on the other side oasis in arid land .

Lessons In the Breeze
Echoes roam these hallowed halls
and for a moment I wished
to run away into the darkness

The last of her glow
lies low to the west
and I can barely feel her touch

Once a warm summer's kiss
on a sun soaked Lilly pad
floating in a pristine pond

Now relegated to rains falling down
her comfort in a foreign land

Echoes don't leave just yet for
I will not chase haunted dreams
but will gaze quietly upon her beauty
and listen to the lessons in the breeze...

Conflicted

Could it be possible to fain ambivalence ?,
in a world full of pain, in pain without romance
and love from the heart and soul of one's desire.

All the while, this one's heart is still on fire,
pining away for the one who, a funeral pyre
is the last place this heart, she has relegated.

Realization !, that is where this one has been fated
to live out his end days in quiet desperation.
For so many, it has become our coarse, our destination.

Premium Member Seeking My Pearl
Seeking My Pearl Written: by Miracle Man 1-31-2020 I excel in writing when right conditions prevail, I’m relegated to failure if I’m not giving my best. No halfhearted effort will be of any avail, and with that kind of effort God isn’t impressed. A lofty goal, sometimes causes thoughts to stray, and bar isn’t high enough if I easily reach my peak. I just keep shucking oysters believing that someday, God will give me the pearl that I diligently seek.
