Premium Member Forever Young

Swinging in circles
At the playground in the dark.
Running in circles
To try to reignite sparks
I once had when I was young.

Inviting him for a meeting at our Rosebank Park.
Sitting together on a once marked bench, even after dark.
Trying to reignite and relight that spiritual spark.

Set the World On Fire

I want to set the world on fire,
burn it down to the roots,
   expelling all fear and hate,
   cleansing of every evil.

I want to reignite it
   and start over again
   with hope and love
   never ending.

Another Day

And so I am for another day
The point vierge of light
I asked in innocence
May I be?
The gift
Yes.

Breathe
Open eyes
And my heart sings
To reignite from ashes
Given in grace, the gift
And so I am for another day

Summer Fling

When the future was my friend
I would think about the past
And how things between us
Would never be the same
But now that some time has passed
And slowly reaching the end
I have never wanted nothing more
Than to reignite the flame

Premium Member Hope Is Not Less Nor Lost

the hope is not less
And it's never loss
Thanks be to God
And His son Jesus

The Light shines
At dark around us
Reignite the sparks
Allowing conversations to the heart

Hope is never lost
If your hope is trust
In Jesus

Night Light

All street lights were turned off tonight
Lost souls wandering to phone light
Mouthing words of reassurance
In twined with a nocturnal dance
Strangers mingle in unison
Until battery life was done
Just as power did reignite
They slipped back into the twilight

Fading

Fade away,
Run from the light and escape the sound,
Venture far into the dark,
And enjoy the silence.

But how long can I run,
And act like its no big deal,
Some day I will find out.

Im just sick of the shadows,
Looking for a spark to reignite.

No regrets, no limits this time.

Smouldering Love

Vowed
To love
Each other
Jealousy wailed
Shattered trust, broken heart, sleepless nights, us.
Brew for woe, estranged us despair, perchance
Cupid finds one
Reignite
Smoking

Torn Ditch

All through spring,
the catalysts of eddies,
encircle the rivulets
bubbling over,
like wherewithal's brandishing
this errant song.
Now the lesson is over,
dark ditches all reignite
treasons answer,
twice mightier than the sword,
he carries his words in the rain
following like the lamb
the serpents gain.

Flambeau

when the flames
of ardent desire
diminish
to mere flickers
as the arousal
burns out
on the wick
of endless dreams

i don't wish
to be the afterthought
carried in the smoke
of rebound passion
as a mere spark
to reignite
your imagination

i'd rather
be unlit
as a display
on dusty shelves
of old dreams

Premium Member Old Photographs

A photograph in black and white can excite my heart's pert rainbow with emotions that reignite sweet love feels lived decades ago. Sentimental tears feel not woe but nostalgia held heart deep tight and stirred deeply by a photo in black and white that hugs me bright.

No Title

In fruitless tradition,
to kneel at the redingote of memory,
in this garden of loss and souls,
an insoluble desire to court heartache.
To renew a dark corner of the heart,
like a half burned candle that we labor to reignite,
through the bitter ephemeral winds of time.
But only illuminate that which will never be again.

Premium Member A Fading Passion

The white-hot passion
between them, their love affair
Now tantamount to
A candle's moribund flame...

dirty dancing in the feeble wind
struggling to reignite to no avail
Flickering, then dying out.
Erosion of lust is to blame.

Premium Member You Should Not Have Kissed Me

You shouldn’t have kissed me
Honest with you, but what is it you want?
I wonder if you know
A plaything lingering in your eyes

Honest with you, but what is it you want?
So god damn gentle
A plaything lingering in your eyes
Vampires reignite the love poem

So god damn gentle
I wonder if you know
Vampires reignite the love poem
You shouldn’t have kissed me.

Luminous

Your eyes are the Fourth of July
Your smile the light of day
But the light in your heart
Is much brighter by far
And it leaves me dazed
And completely amazed
Just to glimpse one tiny ray.

You’re luminescent, incandescent, brilliantly bright
But I know all about the fire behind the light
Let me warm myself beside it
Always want to reignite it
Light my way and stay within my sight.

Valentine

Embers of love glisten like the stars in winter’s solace.
Nurtured by the winds of validation.
A testament of our strength as one.
To keep fighting for warmth and longing;
Our embers will never cease trying.
To reignite the fire that was lost through the cold and loneliness.
I give you my chiseled heart to lay upon your embers.
My love, my person, on Valentine’s day.

A Flames Love

There's a flame inside my heart that died a long time ago.
Holding on to the memories that the flame use to know.
Wishing for the flame to warm my heart again.
Not sure how to handle the flames loving emotion.
As I lie here waiting for my flame to reignite, on this starry starry night.

Premium Member Victory's Charade

Alas, there lingers deep within
a war that neither side can win
while the vanquished ran and hid
those triumphant forgot they did

and history, that lying vamp
would seat an angel with a tramp
so lives within the soul of men
an urge to fight the war again

for age and “wisdom” oft conspire
to reignite a flameless fire
a dream of victory’s charade
flag draped coffins on parade

CIRCLE OF LIFE

A two edged knife that deluges us
With both the midlife and afterlife
Like a tempest,
It sways us to ruination and obscurity
Then hoists us to reclamation and lucidity
The circle of life!

It steers us through despair and hope
And leaves us in a state of mélange
Where the failure to reset  once more
Becomes the anchor of our setback
And the attempt to reignite dead flames
Births the strength to thrive!

Within Our Hopes and Dreams

Within our hopes and dreams

Written By Dean Masciarelli

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Within our hopes and dreams

There is that one special person

That is out there

That can reawaken

The passion from within

But it just cant
be with anyone

Because it will take

A very special person

To reignite the flames of passion

So that the desires of our hearts

Can finally be complete and whole again

Red Lights

Red lights flashing
And my heart defaced
Fighting feelings I can’t describe
Tracing patterns within the rhyme
Out of empathy, out of time
Spiraling down the kitchen sink
Languishing in thoughts abated
Searching for a love
To reignite my spark
Stone faced and hard hearted
I know not from whence I came
Standing in an alleyway
With red lights flashing
Watching the dead reanimate
By a single tear of mine
By a solemn prayer lost in time.

Be your own Firefly

I can feel u sinking
Over thinking
Thinking about drinking
Feeling hated
Colors faded
Whole worlds jaded
Fear of being rejected
Defeated, puzzle pieces all dissected
Stop, it's time to redirect it
Skies to the water, take a moment and reflect it
Remember your roots you aren't alone, we are all connected
Reignite the fire within, resurrect it
Your worth is priceless, don't neglect it
Destiny awaits for you to turn the page and select it

The Banished

I wait to be deemed a criminal.

They tell me my imprisonment is terminal.

As my innocence pervades.

I become a waiting specimen as deception invades.

I am the hope that they resent.

They were unable to confiscate the hope I present.

I am in this community of the banished.

Our intentions to reignite with our families have not vanished.

I am more than what they have seized from me.

I am a soul that howls with all these other waiting trees.

Black Wick

When the sun snuffs out
And the day melts down
To a black-wick night.
When the night breeds doubt
And the clouds move in
To slay the light.

When the shoreline ebbs,
And your path erodes,
Where can you stand?
When your joy subsides
Like a bath turned cold,
How can you stay warm?

From a terrible height,
Through a starless sky,
Relief will break your fall.
Once the pain has plunged
To the darkest depths,
Your spirit will climb

To rise with the sun
And reignite the sky.
