ripples
      of fun
on repeat,
recur
       round
and around
tap
    dancing
before
      my eyes
yet
    in
        my
            mind
the melody
is
becoming
unforgettable

Scarlet setting sun surrendered serene silvery moon,
And bold beauteous blackness is bursting with blooms!
In wide wilder windswept spaces without ivied walls,
Perennial pleasures recur, as a perfumed night falls.
Yellow canaries still croon in collaborative chorus,
Long after a laudable late afternoon's honeyed plus,
As capricious catching colors charm evening for us!...

what have we done
for glaciers to melt so fast
for forest fires to flare so often
for tornadoes to rage so strongly
for droughts to occur oft and anon
for flash floods to recur time and again

Bleeding Sons of Lucre
Bleeding Sons of Lucre

Happy Mother’s beam is the Bank;
We lean on cash, our Father’s flank.

In search of it others eschew grime
For easy “one” by committing crime.

(This is Poetry; this is not a Sermon
I’ll not recur on cursing mammon!)

Oily hands stretched for reception
To that you give without deception...

Is “clean” money not so “laundered”
That can be peacefully squandered!

Alone In My Room
Myriad thoughts
Go through my head
Of private sins
That should be dead
And dreams long spent
That recur and rent
My aching soul
My flesh is weak
I need a plan
To divert me from
My evil thoughts
Please let me see
Life’s goodness abound
odious demons
That tempt my heart
Can I be saved
from this cold world
With time to repent
Though my soul is rent
And be saved again

Our Part
The honored dead lay in their graves
While on this special day we praise
Their unselfish contributions:
Each gave their lives for this nation;
A great country with liberty
Enjoyed by its citizenry.
What do we do to contribute?
Lay flowery wreaths, a tribute?
We the living need to do more:
We must earnestly strive toward
A lasting peace, not just in words
But deeds, so war does not recur.
The toll is too great on the young:
Our dead and wounded are its sum....

The Backyard Trance
Facing the world like a judge;
A judge in his own case,
which ended with a phrase,
‘Guilty’ my lord.

For aeon of its destruction,
which for long cost it its beauty,
and its ancestral history said in misery.
Will I ever get an absolution?

Absolution from the air,
and the breeze the trees give unpaid
But with decapitation I repaid the Acacia.

Absolution from the beauty I trampled on in recur.
Will I ever be forgiven?
Oh! Please, answer me Mother Nature....

To Dream Or Not To Dream
We all have dreams, big and small.
Some live a dream, body and soul.
They have the means to live it all!
Some have the means to live a dream.
But have no heart to live the dream.
I wonder why they have to dream!
If they can't live the dreams they have!
If dreams recur, it means they love.
I wonder how they treat such love!
Your dreams would like to see the light.
They've got so sick of every night.
So, set them free or bury them.
And you have lost a priceless gem....
