Junk Mail and Tissue
Your name lies somewhere,
Between unread junk mail,
ruined tissues and
Discarded receipts....

They collect without receipts,
spend without budgeting....

Subsequence, Part Iii
III
He waited in the downpour,
swept along the muddy river
with dead leaves and old receipts;
tugged into the undercurrent
without as much as farewell
from coupled brake lights glowing cold....

Dancing Down Streets
Deceitful receipts
dancing down streets
Quest for money corrupts
disrupts and interrupts
a peaceful life
when twisted
to invest in ego's
fortress of excess
Short lived success
long term distress...

Another Day At Wally World
Wal-Mart has removed its door greeters,
Replacing them with purchase eyes
Grabbing receipts at exits
Waving them like white flags
Yes, they paid! They paid!
You may pass; thanks!
Do the dance,
Pappy,
lol!...

how many more years do I have to be
best friends
with Sallie Mae?
(and Dear God how will he ever pay back the loans?)...

Beating Hearts of Hearts-
Leading starts the heart of hearts
While in the dark feelings spark
As light of day, shines your way
~
Blinking eyes
Truth and lies
So surprised
Receipts alibis

Beating parts

Light Verse
lesser weevils
A rage results:
the orange dolt’s
been at the tweets.
Or truths they’re called -
I am appalled;
please bring receipts.
Then Harris talks -
word salad pox
from pre-typed sheets.
Oh, RFK
You had the day,
why the retreats?

finding a forgotten purse
Inhaler
Dimes
Brown napkin
Three pairs of eye glasses
Two pencils, an eraser and a pen
Wallet with seventeen dollars and eighty-two cents
Comb, cracker, stale muffin, five receipts, toothpicks
Tiny piece of pink ribbon, twenty-two allergy pills
Empty pill bottle
Sometimes finding a forgotten purse feels like Christmas...

Christmas Emissions
Time of year to be merry and jolly
mistletoe and holly
Holy submissions
we believe are boll....
crackers we pull
and jokes oh so dreadful
lying to children
a month of bull
presents we give
receipts we seek
eating so much we fall a sleep
and on Christmas Day evening
families walk the streets
because Christmas lunch emissions can really reek...

Seasonal Receipts
Alexander leaves now shiny green,
Young stems for a tender cusine;
Lambs lettuce in a salad course
Jacj in the Hedge with mutton sauce;
Sweet Cicely , Marjoram mix and thrive
On shingle bankswhere sa beet survives;
Tansy's spice scented for full flavour
Flowers in omlettes soon to savour;
Seasonal plants of an English clime
Medicine,herbs since ancient time....

Idyll (Idyl)
Life As I Now Know It
Life as I now know it
is formulated, maintained, and sung,
changed up and changed down
by tiny scribbles on pieces of napkins,
or grocery store receipts.
Words that rhyme, inspire, aspire, and take me
into myself, and back out again, twirling me greatly,
or sending me to the outer planet of my mind
not only rule my life,
but have become my life
as I now know it....

An Idea Spots Cracks
As an idea it keeps spotting cracks,
Many beginning to lose their tracks,
Owner of the idea more brain racks
But the doomed wonder a lot still lacks...
Only his young wife the idea backs!
What more through an intact ego hacks?
Sam is sure of receipts of fresh knocks.
On his door a hostile view one tacks
"Samuel deserves sea water in bags
Ten of it or sound thought drags"....

Reminisce
The gutters flood with debris
lost receipts, tossed paper cups
dead leaves
I jump puddles
and duck into a dry setting
the strong scent of coffee
assaults my sense of smell
I see minor twenty first century poets
huddled in a corner
typing away on their devices
laughing at their own wit
I write in a little red notebook
with a pen
Stuck in the last century
child of the 80's
born in the 70's
growing old in the new millennium...

Film Noir
under the moon and murky alleyways
i roam with rats the mean and rain-slicked streets
a private eye, taking whatever pays
i search for her, whose husbands bloody sheets...
paid me to find her and his rich receipts
with-in the fog was smoke like fog in air
from her short cigarette and sinful glare
the light from lamp poles blinked; our bullets blew
a man was dead from our brief love affair
and briefly bullets both inside us grew...

Can Man
Can man lives on the streets
He is not a dead beat
He's an alcoholic
Trying to stay out of the rehab clinic.
This is a harsh reality
That only he can beat.
He keeps all his can receipts
On a dirty balance sheet
Which is a habit.
Can Man
Used to be on the county seat
Now he has no one to greet
For the people he sees aren't in to politics
And to be realistic
A horrible smell he trys to secrete.
Can Man lives on the streets....

Thats Christmas All Sewn Up Present Bought Shopping Done
Job done,
All swen up
Shopping over
Bought all of this year's
Christmas presents
In 1 fowl swoop off Amazon
Everyone this year gets a
Covid-19 test kit
Finally the perfect gift no 1 will exchange
I'm so confident in them i never even bothered to keep the receipts just incase
The gift that keeps on giving
If the test proves negative
As you may well see next Christmas
And if no cure has been found by then
You can re-gift them right back...

Weekend.
she caresses the parts of my insides
that i need touched
it's a hunger that matches my outside yearn
with ferocity and teeth
but
the windows don't know better-
they reveal a dusty strained light
or a cold lack of.
it leaves me queasy
there's no good season of the day
when it's passing.
everything gets tan and medical white
when the vacation's almost over
i go home bleary eyed sullen with:
dirty socks, upset stomach
three cigarettes, ten dollars
worn underwear and receipts....
