We Look Like Weasels

We look like weasels
But we are related to cats
Let’s do the mongoose cha cha and shake our fats!
Rata Tat Tat, Rata Tat Tat!

We like our meat
But will also eat insects and plants
We bring up our kits together
in a colony where we’ll be eating ants.

Nor' Easter

The wind is break dancing with the trees. beating a rapper’s song. Limbs flail on the tarmac. Rain flies like sweat from corn rows across the expanse of asphalt. A barrage precipitates against the window pane with the rata-tat-tat of a machine gun’s bullets as the front passes.

With Your Idle Chatter

With your idle chatter
You’ve awoken a matter
That could a family scatter…

With your idle chatter,
A warring metal’s clatter
Dared to a unity batter…

Satan pays pro rata
For wrought mischief and idle chatter,
At times tipping the latter:
Let me see you become fatter
With your satanic idle chatter!

Fat Cat Pat

rat a tat rata tat a tat
there was a fat cat named pat
who fell asleep on a mat
woke up to tat a tat tat
or a sound something like that
found out it was made by a rat
that’s why the tune was flat
cause a rat can’t meow like a cat
rat a tat rat a tat tat

War

Rata -tatatat, rata -tatatat, rata -tatatat
the sounds pierce the cold laboring day air.

Around corners and up stairs they come.
Rata -tatatat, rata -tatatat, rata -tatatat
bullets pierce splintering wood,
and shattering glass, turning the snow red,
as bodies fall.
Off with their heads with a wood ax;
accurate with every shot, a sniper's success.

A Poem

A poem, a poem, just to write a poem
Without a rhyme or reason
Perhaps to just for the season
Or simply for the sake of many
That would like to read a poem
It doesn't have to be a long one
Just something with a sound
Yes that's it something with a sound
A boom boom or a rata tat tat
All after the swing of a baseball bat
Or the sound of thunder
That follows a lightning strike
A poem of sound is what it will be
Made from the mind of me.

The Nightmare Returns

I am the shadow that stalks you in the night,
Being sure to give you a great big fright!

I am the thing that lives beneath your bed,
Giving a rata-tap-tap on your puny little head!

I am the glowing sphere flying here and there,
So you better make sure you be so very aware!

I am the doll sitting at the end of your bed,
So you better go to sleep or you will be dead!

I am you walking in an ice-cold sweat,
Saying "it was just a nightmare, and that I bet!"
