sweet strewn cedar shavings
Layered bedding soft in stalls
Raked and forked daily
With tender compassion
Companion care for a horse

her mind
a box of
melted crayons
her hands
a vista of fire
magic wands
raked over
the coals

composure broken self
dark deep empty life

Longing

raked by silent needs

fall leaves come of age
branch is not a cage
the clime of the sage
raked piles on youth's stage

Cause the
burn—of raked
shame—breaking glass,
not breaking anything.
The past
over—
reflection
just killed and reeled
back only; for you come
again.

Raked into a pile
Run and jump with abandon
Color explosion
Patiently rake once again
Making memories of fall
For the leaves contest...

Blow
for now
your heat on
rippling leaves;
unjaded, they don't drop... the pressure snarls
in veins on leafy cheek's different masks
(too many airs)
color shy—
fallen
raked

blows and shakes

lettuce
raked and tossed
bones
of oak
left leafless

It's nature's will in Autumn trees—
To slip out of offbeat colors.
There lay crushed prose he saw through her.
My unattached ground still does bleed
From raked walks on lanes— those who leave.

His red eyes stared into mine.
His claws raked across my neck.
His fangs nipped at my cheek.
And all I asked what he is to me?
He replied " I am nothing, nothing but your worse nightmare."

Blank verse
Leaves dancing down the winter wind boulevard come to rest on white covers.
Time for a nap; a long rest for un-raked crisps; food for spring babes.
Nature’s re-birthing is always a hungry one.

Love is a rolling stone
That capers on
Raked leaves of the past
Then it plunges
Into the river
That carries it to the ocean.

A pile of raked leaves
no child to jump into them
A pet
no one to play with
An elderly couple
no one to give to
A house
that is not a home
An apple tree
no one to eat its fruit
A secluded path in an autumn’s woods
no lovers to walk it

Winds are blowing
Your hair is tossed
Autumn breezes flow through
Invigorating air
Donning warm clothes
Almost time, for the witches brew
Branches bending
Leaves are falling
Flowing with colors so bright
Raked in big piles
Kids come to play
Returning home, as day turns to night

The wind has blown
All the fallen leaves
Downward to the ground
This is not the first time
All the raking starts
Raking a pile of leaves
Fifty bags are packed
More bags will be filled
There are more leaves
to spill
Until all has spread
To be raked once more
For the very last time

Pain with every heart break,
Mistakes that i have raked,
All of my sweet memories,
All of my vain victories,
Were all just for you,
Love in my heart,
Time in my cart,
And my idle thoughts,
Are just for you,
My heart's stream,
My beautiful dreams,
My clever schemes,
Will be
just for,
YOU

Diminished Hexaverse
The evil teeth of summer have chewed
me and raked me and made my skin sere
Sleepless nights have sucked my soul
and caused me many a nighttime tear
Then one day I feel it, a faint puff of air
Fall is threaded through it like a fantasy
Soon the leaves will change to russet
We will enjoy wonderful Autumn ecstasy

Horizontal Vertigo --
amongst the wet raked leaves,
Gazing into gorgeous blue;
where clouds --
Are passing frogs or horses;
In a pair of grass-stained Levi’s.
A subtle wind --
Tickles all the colored leaves,
So drenched in spattered sunlight;
Still falling --
As she rakes the cooling leaves;
So brilliant --
Over happy giggles.

Lyric
And you laughed with me
and our eyes were watery together
and inside me
you are gathered
"all of you"
scattered through me
like in raked leaves
but now the wind is dark
you disappear like poisoned bark
and my soul is in a million pieces
and some of you
have them inside of you
that's cool I'm glad to be there
but where did you go !!!

falling from the tree's autumn leaves paint the ground a colorful quilt.
crunching underfoot the sound of nostalgia memories of fall
red, orange, and gold a firework display of nature soon to fade away.
raked into a pile children jump and laugh with joy autumn leaves fly high.
the wind carries them like feathers in the breeze autumn leaves depart.

Rainbow
envision the prism
the colorful
the rain risen
with polar missions
left in Ireland
the capsule of landscape
raked with white cliffs
as high to reach the tallest skies
we look up in awe
the rain falls so loud
the thunder howls
the rain becomes showers
the thunder fails
and rainbow hails

I do not know?
Take a look outside your window, look out for the glare.
The sun is setting, set just a moment ago out there.
After a day of wind and barely wet rain abound
came floating leaves down along the ground
waiting to be blown or cut or raked,
this work is no piece of cake.
I just did that yesterday and looking up at the trees,
all I see are many more leaves to be set free.

Rhyme
For souls who quest
Paths of pleasure and pain
Beauty rising from sorrow
Art cresting from pain
Emerge from your cavernous slumber
Saunter into the realm of endless night
Dance till the heart can barely take it
Embrace the unknown frights
Pity the man of no remorse
For second guessing is life's delight
The heart raked over the coals
Infuses the melody that heralds first light.

Blank verse
The old red barn once stood proud
Against the storm, paying
Its own way with the Mail Pouch
Sign, brimming with hay
It staved winter's starving chill
A vanguard of stubborn will.
But now the storms have racked
The bones and flailed the bloody flesh
Torn away the shingles and
Raked across the giant yellow letters,
Letting in the cold and bitter air
Left the rubble for the vacant stare.

Pastoral
Love is a leaf in the wind
Floats and blows and spins
Settles for a moment but a gust
The gust steals it
It settles on a lawn
But the wind snatches
Spins and flutters
Zigzagging the leaf
Till it is raked into a pile
Carried to the mulch
The leaf turns into dirt
The dirt is used to grow food
Or the leaves are raked
And burned and the fire
Love is burnt till none
