Requiem For a Racquetball Racquet's Racket
Was gettin' kind of loud,
On the court one day,
The proprietor called out,
to keep the noise level down
Hence the title,
Your tongue-twister clown!...

Premium Member Lets Win the Racquetball Tournament
Let’s win the racquetball tournament Carlie said.
What she meant was “let ME win the racquetball tournament”.
My girl-next-door-charms usually hides my super competitive spirit.
This time was like all of the others.
When I won she stopped speaking to me.
No big loss....

Premium Member I Love You
My circle is of
    fruitflies, houseflies, mosquitos
    squirrels, chipmunks, possums
    spiders, crickets, ants
    parakeets, seagulls, geese

This dance is absent without you
    hair, glasses, smile
    shirt, pants, shoes
    laugh, giggle, talk

Together we were one
    hugs, handholding, cuddles
    rollerblading, bicycling, racquetball
    car rides, lighthouses, kayaking
    fishing, dinners, parenting

Premium Member What Can You Peppermint Angels Do
Peppermint Christmas angels were doing the cha cha cha.
“What else can you do?” Asked a pinecone name of McGraw.
We can do the petootsie dance, and we can tease our maw.
“What else can you do?” asked a prissy critical macaw.

“We can twirl and spin, and we can make delicious coleslaw.

We can peel potatoes in a fancy way if you get them raw.
We are pretty talented,” said the angels, and we can draw.”...

Premium Member Toying With Words
black, white, gray, tall, wrinkly, short
Money, broke, bank, racquetball court.
Sandal, beach, woodpecker’s bird call,
Flower, plant, winter, spring, autumn, fall.

I am toying with words, waiting for a poem to surface.
Word association is the way I put my brain on notice.
Red, green, yellow, silver, gold, periwinkle blue.
Owl, hawk, rooster, ugly chickens too
Ankle, knee, joints, wood tick, feather, deer
Word association is okay, but a poem is not yet here....

Premium Member those days are gone
I have five hobbies
Do them all day long now that I am retired
Cartooning, painting, poetry
Tv binge watching
Playing with my dogs
I used to garden
But my knees won’t bend any more
I swam and played racquetball in my youth
Those days are gone
Falling down is one of my biggest fears
Since I tore my ACL and meniscus
I have two big-butted dogs
I use a walker so they do not knock me down
Being old is not like being young
Do what you can now, while you still have a body...
