Premium Member Inane Inaction
Listen to poem:
You imbibe the diatribe,
quaffing the jibe for a bribe
to remain silent and acquiescing.

Struck mute to suit
your unfussed cowardice
in failing to speak up,
when you know the throng is wrong like you
to remain silent,
a seething flock in shock.

Inertia, inherent,
in the same inane inaction....

The ‘lionesses’ lost to Spain Spain’s players are quaffing champagne I may be unkind But was the ref’s blind My reasoning may be insane I googled the Penso surname The origin could be from Spain Perhaps there’s some bias So Spaniard's could Gaius From watching finals I’ll abstain!

Mad Hatter Day
What a fashionable day to be in Wonderland!
quaffing a piping mug of peppermint tea
clamped into my manic hands
sprinkled in three spoons of
that sticky, drippy powder of craziness
with a side of derangement tarts
served on a golden platter
all I need to balance my appetite
for keeping my soul content
with this fairy tale madness!...

Wright Words
I want to be a right or
Not be writ ten off
Like a drunken sail or
Quaffing at a trough.

I want to be a right or
And stupefy with words
Not a punch-drunk fight or
Hurting for a wards.

I want to be a right or
Even if not write
If only I could spell or
Make it sound less tright.

I want to be a wordwright
To hammer, not type
Make thought caught in flight
Concrete, not hype....

The Rocked Singer
still feels queasy about crowd temper
even as a jaded, seasoned pub singer,
      sincerely booed or jokingly applauded,
         either statement hurts, cruelly loaded;

feeling like a winner on a losing streak,
liking the feel of fleeting fame, its ache,
grateful for sober jeers, drunken cheers,
jolly hecklers and cheerers quaffing beers!...

Quacksalver
The quacksalver’s quicksilver cure--
slathering a salt salve or quaffing mercury--
might sound like quatsch, a bad wine
of qually quality, but remember a time
when faith aligned with alchemy,
before the querical became the enemy
of the clerical, the quisquous nature
of faith mirrored that viscous commodity;
when quiddities were not quisby oddities
and to quop and quob before mysteries
did not portend holy querimony
but recognition of the quintessence divine....

Half Past Ape
Half Past Ape!

A hominid has broken off the zoo,
It is quaffing fetid water in the loo!
When drunk with the frothy gulp
It'll pummel own wife to near pulp!

The Zoo has freed a freaking Ape
To the detriment of sexes with rape,
Just as the young fall to tantrums
Or a frenzied simian beating drums!

There's still a primitive part in us
That strongly resist to board a bus!
It haunts most when we're cruel;
Robbing another of mirth an' gruel!
