The Ego

The ego is a tyrannical beggar.
A loud, pitiful, empty-handed turnkey,
Powerless but for charity,
Living in fear of death by discovery.

In doing less
And thinking more
I have thought of much
And learned nothing
In chasing this disease
I am powerless over alcohol
And I begin AA

The Power of Love

You loved and were loved
but you wanted control
the power of love was what you’d hold
power that made your love turn cold
killing the love
powerless
sold

I am
fermenting in tedium
emotionally over-reactive
frequently inappropriate
irresponsible but trustworthy
discontentedly powerless

Figurehead

Figurehead alone
Powerless to change a thing
Ancient figure standing
In the middle of a forgotten land
Unable to recreate the relationship
That once was so relevant
Form: Lyric

Premium Member Slow Down

Happenstance meeting -
eyes and lips ignite a race
down romance's one-way street.

Feeling powerless -
is there a detour ahead?
A weak voice entreats, "Slow down".

Premium Member Think First

Words, once spoken,
Become as arrows escaping a Nimrod's bowstring.
Powerless to return to their quiver,
They remain forever in flight,
Until stilled by time or distance.

Premium Member Why Live If I'Ll Always Feel Like This

What I want is no on life’s to-do list for me.
How I feel is not relevant at all,
Because I’m so stupid and selfish.
I’m powerless to even improve.
Feels like nothing matters anymore.

Premium Member Blessed

blessed

 If knowledge is power
 I am powerless
 If money is power
 I am less
 but if your health
 is your wealth
I feel like a very rich man
and for this I can say
 I feel blessed

On the Edge

Bursting into red,
That’s all I see,
I can feel myself,
Losing all control,
My words scathe like flames,
Yet I am powerless,
A shell of a good human,
Almost satanic,
I mourn the torment.

Dresses Wear Her

Dresses wear her
And she is made from smiles
Laughter orbits her in faith
With a flick of her hair reality trembles
Her superpower makes you powerless
And with her touch you can feel the universe

Premium Member the worst feeling in the world

The worst feeling in the world
Is not worry, sadness, frustration, hate or anger
It is feeling powerless
I discover that in my nightmares
When I am pinned down and cannot scream
Or make any sound

Premium Member Boxing Gloves and Dead Sea Scrolls

Dark thoughts twitching on a nightstand.
Wrinkled -bloated-bloodied.
Like an ancient boxing glove.
Powerless-broken-longshot.

A dead sea scroll- smoldering.
In the chambers of a burned-out heart.

Premium Member My Fickle Faith

My fickle faith foreboding still
I’m with you in the end
My powerless heart to spend
So many instances
Is this pain my heartless chest
I will not die
Complete refusal
Shadow still follows
As usual

Powerless - a Note.

It’s not that God is powerless,
It’s just that God is afraid.
                                                                                     - Ivan Beresford.

Grand father said, " Aye! come here, here bean!"
Grand child- smiling toothless and peeing
stretching old wabbles
crippling child bubbles
One for another powerless twin!

Powerful politicians promoting powerless politics.
Passing propagated policy proposedly preventing prejudice.
Pretending past perceptions pose puny persuasions presently.
Proving people prevent prosperity purposely.

Funny World

Man; He is very powerful yet powerless
He trusts in his abilities yet he has nothing
He says tomorrow I will, yet tomorrow he isn’t

Oh Man, have you not yet learnt that there is nothing that you have that is yours???
