Lost Love

A man alone,
Plagued by fears.
Swollen eyes,
With salted tears.

Mind tormented,
Heart bereft.
Lost forever,
The day she left.

Sixty Years Later

    America plagued by terror
Murder and hate wherever you turn

Country gone the way of Watts, ‘65

Tears Hard As Shells

Her gaze traces an island
Scanning a plagued village;
Tears swell from a tidal fury
raking bushes, shells--
In Maldives, she wails
For lost daughters.

A Fiddler's Demise

I feel riddled with sickness, plagued by all infirmity. Like a fiddle playing a - score of sombre tunes. (Kouta form - Japanese quatrain, 7,7,7,5) 03.20.2024

Opinionated Rants

opinionated
sop box
rants
not really
dealing with
a specific
situation
instead
venting
over
past
hurts
never
truly
moving
past any
issue that
plagued the
scarred soul

Gas Attacks

Plagued by gas attacks was Willy Weasel
His tummy churned from frequent upheaval ~
Then Willy got a hot tip
Try this stuff, just take a sip ~
Willy learned weasels can't stomach diesel

God's Greater Love

Grace is our weaponry.
Masterful minds, plagued by
mankind's hard-won knowledge,
are the battlefield.

Insight leads to readiness,
To be blessed beyond,
all human intellect,
by God's greater love.

Debt Dam

Fools' parody of having's sort,
now obligations drained resort.

Speculations wonder, dreams a'soar
asunder now, plagued debt's encore!

The vision's plunder, to have more
dam's broken . . . underbelly's floor!

West

i plagued my mind
by the waters edge
the winds came gently
the August people sneered
a smile beguiled though
as we became one
from grey to gold
west is behoven
our lives spent
spectral stories told
now we are alone

Third World War

My thought was the third world war had begun

Fireworks plagued our 'hood by the megaton

I placed earplugs in my ears

As neighbors hailed the New Years

I in blissful sleep let them have their fun

Shadow me not,

for in my light you will disappear,

Take up your own rein,

disperse with your speak,

dwell not,

My warning take heed,

your rhetoric is plagued,

hitch hikers, decline their thumb.

Your words know their own way home.

Trapped

So tired
And yet restless
Just a prisoner to time
Neither here
Nor there
Trapped somewhere between
Plagued by unrelenting thoughts
All in mockery
A silence so loud
Penetrating the soul
No way to defeat it
No choice but to wait

Leech

You are a total leech
sucking what is good for you;
Plagued with pitiful speech
always mumbled and garbled;
Never had a far enough reach,
you embarrass yourself;
Thieves always hide what’s true,
little did you see I am made of bleach.

He Should Rehearse

He Should Rehearse

He should rehearse how to disperse
And with his small hands steal a purse
What would he possibly do after he did
Find paperwork for his illegitimate kid
Continue to be plagued by horrible curse.

A ripple wow.

Shampoo

If you are plagued with dandruff and oily hair,
then there is no need for despair.
The cure for it can be found almost anywhere.
Just about anyone would know what to do:
Go to the store and buy some shampoo.

inspired by another member's poem.

From My Poems Be Freed

People have been plagued;
From me, for Horn Haiku begged;
Opened one more keg.

Thought my poems they need
In past, people had agreed;
From want to be freed.

Does this sound familiar?

Muted Memories

I’m plagued with muted memories
that at their leisure will just wail;
It could be the song on the breeze,
I’m plagued with muted memories;
Meals disrupted by fallacies;
My peace they decide to impale;
I’m plagued with muted memories,
that at their leisure will just wail.

Impromptu

waiting while
awaiting a date
predating a memory
that has never happened

plagued
by bouts of
rain every day
we set to meet

surely
surely a sign
a sign from god
meetings not meant

to meet
but anon
foregone
too long

later
the rain
now sweat
and cold feet

Middle of Nowhere

middle of nowhere
in no mans land
lives the rejected
souls of past desires
that had been killed
off long ago
murdered by negativity
that plagued the land
of yesterday
never allowing anything
to be able to grow ever
within the land of
rejected souls desires

But Do They Know Him

But Do They Know HIM? Miracle Man 7/19/2022 Some people live life, with confidence and boldness. Others are plagued, with doubts and fear. Knowing who Jesus is, but toward Him is a coldness. To the road map He’s given us, we must strive to adhere.

The Fruit Without the Tree

Empowering the indolent,
  the fox is now inside

The vermin on the loose,
the truth now plagued by lies

The takers stalk the givers,
those on the dole now scream

“We want what you have worked for,
 —the fruit without the tree”

Lost Beauty

Forest fire burns
The air filled with smoke and ash
Arson is the cause

here in Northern California
we have been plagued by many
forest fires. The Humbolt fire
that destroyed 40 homes and one
of the most beautiful canyons
you would ever see was started
by arson - Such a waste

Fatherhood

Fatherhood is a serious job,
There is no time to slack off or to be a slob,
It requires tenacity and due diligence,
Indifference could cause children to be
plagued with all sorts of pestilence,
Fathers have to be stalworth and strong
in order to keep their children
from doing wrong.

Refugees

Years ago bold the Sun
Saffron lands
The waters depths plagued our mind
East was once a golden hue
The winds came gently
The August people steered
their heads converse as one
We were at peace
to the west
West is the best
Gold behests the streets
The Golden crowds
free at last

A sin to love

They say it is a sin to love you.
But how can it be a sin when you are the only thing that is right in my world and eyes?
You are my source of light.
The light to the darkness that plagued my eyes and life.
I can't let you go, not when I have finally found a love worth fighting for.
