Perhaps the most profound and yet most ironic piece of wisdom:
"It is in learning nothing that truly keeps us all young."

A Russian inside the Ukraine
Was greeted with NATO disdain
But ladies found
Some common ground
Whilst sipping a glass of champagne
time piece
sundial
circle of life
darkest grim reaper
an unexpected birth
yearly appointments
monthly schedules

time piece
Walking in springs of sounds
Found our self in cage sing freedom
Forgiven impossible given torture
Asking my children free making future
Well managed cubical piece
Rolling around on the floor
Looking like a perfect die
Landing on the One

All the French
I can take -
piece of cake.
A baguette
or croissants?
Paris tempts.
Cream inside;
lick my lips.
Morrow’s trip.
A bitter piece
of peace
may be all the peace
we get, but any piece
of peace
is worth a bit of peace
to someone.

If life were a piece of cake
it would be a fruit cake
Looks good but really it ain't...
confused
you eat it anyway
till you cant take it anymore.
Warm flakey biscuits,
Thick red eye gravy.
Side of ham. Sure.
Sausage patties? Why not.
Is there any bacon?
Just a tiny piece or two.
I am on a diet.
A piece of work,
Ready to suck,
Power of my mind,
By making it bind,
To questions too tuff,
While making me scoff.

The scattered pieces
Of my heart gust in the wind
With your loving hands
You gathered them, piece by piece
Your love made it whole again…
finds a piece of flint
sits chipping away at it
such concentration
proudly holds his arrow head
dreams of being a hunter
(a stone age boy)

Skin colour is icing on a cake
That needed some love to make and bake
If not to your taste
Please don't let it waste
Someone will love it, for Heaven's sake!
A fall ensemble
Autumn leaves, tiny pumpkins
Straw layered within
Bronze stars floating high above
Witch’s hat, dynamic piece

Dollars always help .
But the parched earth always wins .
More than dough required .
Inspired by Sami's "piece of bread" , contest .
My prince, hold your poetry close,
for it shall keep you company.
It will bring you beautiful serenity.
Locked away in the castle of your mind,
I will continue to climb.

There was once, a woman named Rose
In briefs; she oft hankerd to pose
Hocking her food blender
She bought smalls, and suspenders'
To bounce onto a stage, i'd suppose?
Just a drop of dew
with earthquake in my heart
sun will make pain go
evaporating tears
returned to a ladybug
childhood full of giggles
sheltered by a leaf
forgot how old I am
What word comes to mind for my seven free tiles?
That answer, to me, is a Piece-a-Cake!
I just think of everyone on Poetry Soup,
then "FRIENDS" is the word I would make!
My love, all I see,
Is the shadow of you here.
I can't move on now
Because you left me empty,
And you hold that missing piece.
For the "Just one Tanka" Poetry contest
Just give me a smidge
A speck
A tiny little bit ...
All I'm asking for is some sign
Some chance
Some hope ...
That even just a small piece
Will save us
From ourselves.
the bee had no idea he would become a piece of time
He was not a writer, a poet, he did not do rhyme
But he was encased in amber over time
And now he is a beautiful necklace of mine

The last piece would make it captivating,
framing it would make it look amazing,
looked everywhere,
dog had guilty stare,
noticing lately he's been constipated.
