Already tiny kittens interprets love Mother's voice purr-fect bond
For Leonora Galinta's contest, "Write Me A Poem...Picture Prompt ( cat and her kittens)
The life of a magicians cat is dread
Especially when old spells are misread
He magicked a canary
But alas, O'contrary
I ended up in the darn cage instead
The alpha canine stood under the tree
Such doggy wisdom does not come for free
“If you bury your bone
please remember the zone
Now form an orderly queue while I pee”
Posh giraffes like to take a lengthy sip
Outstanding manners we will not let slip
We like afternoon tea
From a cup - hear our plea
Give us a trough if you want a good tip
Come on guys I really need to go.
My inside are about to blow,
This line is way too long,
No time to sing a song.
I am filled with messy cargo.
your brilliance is
indestructible-
your resilience
impenetrable-
faith brings unyielding
courage-
stay radiant...

Eve Roper
She reads through the night,
her eyes taking in each word,
as warm candlelight,
fills the room that is stirred,
with her book and hummingbird.
A cat with a plan to attack
And gobble an avian snack
Was put in his place
Oh what a disgrace
To get his own medecine back!

Soft wings glide at night
Dancing colors in the sky
Silent wish of flight
Through my dreams they flutter by
Golden tales of lullaby.

Well I thought I saw a puddy tat
How did I ever imagine that?
Just look at our faces.
It seems we swapped places.
He is where he belongs that bad cat.
They booked the restaurant two for tea.
The giraffes turned up promptly at three.
They were way too tall you know.
The roof was too low and so,
They used the window to gain entry.
Today mice have nothing to fear
I'm quite comfortable sitting here
for it's my turn to slouch
and chill out on the couch
so pass the popcorn and the beer!

I asked my future
and the crystal ball revealed
the future for me
was the same one for us all. . .
what we give. . . earth shall give back

we took pity on you poor kitty
but now this kitty has no pity,
He's king of our castle
exposing his tassel
while on our new couch looking pretty.

Maybe God wanted to paint
this charming creature white;
but when about to finish,
ran out of paint;
And the result—a pied beauty!

Dawn breaks, soft and new
Strong whispering winds to play
Gold threads cross my view
Shadows dance and drift away
Hope shines bright this gentle day.

The dog days of summer find these canines
Of all shapes and sizes waiting in lines
It's hot and muggy out
Yet these bow-wows are stout
For they find relief in finding their shrines
The day began as normal - breakfast time.
I staggered to the café ready to dine.
And yet, what did I see?
Two giraffes drinking tea!
I knew it! Last night I drank too much wine.

Oh, young lad stolas steed climbs up to heaven, please;
Look down, toward ground hang onto your steed;
Heaven bound horse ridden carousel rides free;

You gather us in ransom to others joy,
Clustered together; graceful your smile.
Bewitched the admirers venture to muse;
For art is priceless and eternal.

Come to me
Lift me up
Feel our hearts
Beating as one
Skin to skin
Look deep into my eyes
Kiss my quivering lips
You have my mind
You have my heart
You have my love
Never let me down

woo wafts
pass through
embodied operatic night
whilst moonlight melody scatter
starlight scents
caress her delicate breast
blush face
wring the celestial body
out of its passion.

Yes I am
The Bandit
Cornered the market in Cool
And yes
Stolen the best seat in the house
Now would you be a pet and fetch me a saucer of milk?

Up Past Her Bedtime
Midnight magic floats
Through a warm candlelit nook
Little heart takes notes
Of butterfly tales in books
Lost in soft starlit chapbooks
