Napoleon Complex
I sense a Napoleon complex
As Joe the canary his wings flex
He stretches tall and proud
Squawks and shrieks really loud
At the Seagull who has huge, huge pecs ...

He Is Eighty Six Now
He is an old man now
Eighty-six in 2022.
He has not aged a day though.
He is drawn the same, only better.
We recognize his red cape and red boots.
His shiny tight-fitting suit shows off his pecs.
He has the handsome squared jaw we have always seen.
And those blue eyes! Eighty-six, really Superman?...

Ruckus At Clyde's Bar
Big fight
Last night
Clyde's Bar
Bizzare
Tough guys
Streetwise
Much brew
Fists flew
Thrown chairs
Pulled hairs
Black eyes
Loud cries
One bloke
Nose broke
Heads bashed
Teeth trashed
Knives slashed
Pecs gashed
Cops came
To tame
Powwow
Peace now
All's well
That's swell
Great fight
Last night
...

Mel B
Former Spice Girl, known as Mel B,
will no longer judge the show, AGT.
Labeled an addict of sex,
she enjoyed the male performers' great pecs!
March 21, 2019 for the Clerihew Contest
for Tania Kitchin's Celebrity Or Famous Person Clerihew Poetry Contest
(AGT is acronym for America's Got Talent, one of my fave summer tv programs)
Will miss ya, Mel B!!...

Duplex With a Hex
Witch cousins crammed into the tiny duplex.
Packed in so tightly, that no one could flex.
Warlocks were mad now, couldn’t work on their pecs.
Party spilled over onto noisy neighbor’s upper deck.
Neighbor strained to take pix, injuring her neck.
Gawkers I cars had a horrible three-pile-wreck.
Landlord made witch cousins write him a big check.
They painted his car with psychedelic paint fleck....

No Cheeks !
I was never a muscle geek.
Tho’ you wouldn’t call me weak.
Working as a life guard
during summer.
I always took care of myself,
watching my diet and my health.
Growing old is a bit of a bummer
On my arms, I had bumps.
On my chest were big humps.
And my butt at the beach
caused much rankle.
Now my Abs, Pecs, and Glutes
are shaped like a Newt’s.
And my pants fall often
to my ankles.

Light Verse
Babe Ruth the Swimmer
I dreamt of Babe Ruth
in Howard Johnsons'
lighted pool doing
the backstroke so brilliantly.
No bats lying around
anywhere. warm water
reflected dorsal pecs,
beautiful biceps, round
spiral muscles fanning
along so softly.
Finally finding the nerve
to say: Babe! your a
ballplayer; Sultan of swat.
Smiling at me timidly:
I'm a ballplayer and a
a swimmer. He replied
calmly gliding away.
A swan in the moonlight....

Free Time
Day too long been pilin' up
so when you smile me up
and down to my bones
ta hell with the phones and loans
groans and moans trump hands down.
Where ya been, outa town?
Who cares those eyes, oh my
pecs and gluts, ceps and thighs...
enfold me embrace me
hold on tight and face me
naked as you are in
unabashed tenderness
tongue flicks enmeshed with
grips kneading our flesh
in togetherness despite all
we feel at one with god's
creation....

In Awe
Today, l went whale watching
I was left in complete awe
The magnificence of these beautiful creatures
Hugged my being to the core
Their amazingly huge yet graceful bodies
Playfully breaching into the air
Slapping their pecs in the water
To their own grandeur… oblivious and unaware
It was a truly special sight to behold
Nature in its rawest and purest form
To see such majestic creatures
Engulfed my being with a joyful warmth
...

Covid Is No Big Deal
We have Covid No Big Deal.
We sing, and dance do the Virginia Reel
Swing our partners round and round.
Prance our droplets all over this here town.
Showing our muscles, displaying our pecs.
None of us knowing the long-term effects.
We have Covid No Big Deal.
Let’s all share a community meal.
We will not wear masks or take precautions at all.
You cannot make us grow our brains big or tall.
Science means nothing. The CDC is our enemy.
We happily get our misinformation on TV....
