Premium Member Smoking Embers

Throwing your heart into a basket
appears to be par for the course;
Writing and then rewriting
searching for electric;
Crumpled ideas
left on the floor,
embers smoke
wanting
sparks.

There is a golfer from Lima, Peru
On each of his balls, a llama tattooed
Up and down his scores jump
          Like a llama's big hump
As soon as his fans cheer, they have to boo

Let's face it, I'm just a useless old fuddy-duddy My joints need oiling and my brain's all muddy It's par for the course A mangy old horse But my mind is still stunning and a brilliant study

Summer

Summer night, dogs bite,
par for the course old fellow,
river down, flooded town,
Yellow Belly were, biting are,
Jewfish sure are sorrowful, huh.

My sister Lucile sold her acoustic guitar To buy a hot motor scooter with a sidecar Her bad luck, they soon separated On which she hadn’t calculated But I said, “For her that’s definitely a par!”

Delicious Delusions Or Par For the Course

i just took a pill
the water spilled
not much of a drop

but it dripped
off my bearded
chin slowly rolling

down between
my man breasts
and avoiding the

sand trap
landing in an
unflagged belly

button as
the crowd
went wild with

this
hole

Guess i'm too old n you're too young,
parents would probably have me hung.
Though i'm as healthy as a horse,
They wont let me in this race of course.

can't catch this lovely one.
Solo i must run, par for the course old son,
when time has surely won,but chasing still is fun.

Forget-You-Not

I haven't the scope anymore to fight for what I lost,
the noose around my neck is tight but its worth the cost.

My actions are a little forced,
though I could hold out longer,
success is par for the course now my will is stronger,

Not a minute longer on your side..or by it
I''ll snap back into shape again, take more than I'll give,
sometime I'll forget-you-not, move on...
but never ever

forgive.

Freedom

Revealing emotions so close to the source
Of the pain and the anguish, is par for the course.
Do not display your essence, your soul
For fear of life taking, and swallowing you whole.
Protect all you have, or treasure most dear
Look over your shoulder, and cover your rear.
The thieves are around you, hidden by lies
They mingle close now, in the heavy disguise.
So take my hand, trust only in me
I’ll find a way to let us be free

Some airlines allow a small pet To stop folk from getting upset But a ‘comfort horse’ Isn’t par for the course I’d challenge this airline’s mindset! I’m allergic to animal fur Of kitties who meow and purr It would drive me insane If pets were on my plane I wonder do others concur! 2/19/20 https://news.sky.com/story/miniature-horse-called-fred-travels-first-class-on-american-airlines-flight-11937051
