The Fever

the fever overtook us
after our vacation week
needed a soak
soaked in each other’s skin
toweled off
grinned

A Posh Tragedy

A posh lady from posh avenue Tarook,
Broke a nail when reading a book,
       A cataclysmic event
  Causing her such torment,
Her emotions were quite overtook.

Bench Stench

The Vicar sniffed searching for the culprit
As it rose it overtook the pulpit
Stained glass windows wept
As the brimstone crept
The choir hummed so as not to gulp it

Let Guard Down

please let your
guard down
let it melt
away like ice
on a summers
day
till there
is nothing but
love left standing
in the place
of resentment
like before
bitterness
overtook
the heart

Deep Within

A wave of grief overtook me,
Pressing me to the depths,
I did not fight the ocean,
I silently sobbed,
For I did not wish to disturb the moon,
Quietly I filled the ocean to overflowing,
As I welcomed sleep.

Her Come Hither Look

Ethereal cloud of pink carnations and blue hydrangeas
Overtook her thoughts, turning her wispy and willing
Her caramel skin tones oozed into her Barbie dream girl mind
Silken red teddy-laden, she gave him her come hither look.

Irrationality Overshadowed

needless irrationally based volatile situations
overshadowed all rationality that remained
alive within the realm of reality that the
past self inhibited till one day
irrationality finally overtook the
space that was left uninhibited

Ignoble

One man’s treasure, one man’s trash;
saved for years, then sold for cash.

Though held once in high esteem,
tarnish overtook their gleam.

Dull they sit and patient wait,
helpless to control their fate.

Auctioned off, or harsher still,
land ignoble, in a fill.

Amorphous

A spark conceived
by way of the wind's undertones
Assertive they rest their eyes
a scope of passion
was comatose but a century ago
The face of anonymity,
yet a dream to turn up gold
Only love's curiosity
overtook navigation

Human Consumption

Fluff your feathers, young bird.
Fly away.
You indeed have a life,
no matter that your mother
is dead.
Human consumption overtook her land so
flee!
You have no rights.
I, *****sapien, am god.
All land is mine,
your feathers are mine,
and the sticks you used to build your home.

Fairy Granny's Fantasy

Tired Fairy Granny did sit Upon the sunflower's brown seed. As dragonfly round her did orbit, Then from her small hand did feed. As darkness overtook the sky, Fairy Gran needs to babysit. She will have to be rested to fly, And get there lickety-split.

Dew

The moisture from this
Morning’s dew
Supplemented natures
Humidity and hue
Plants as if living
And growing so big
Overtook the yard
Prompting me to dig
Holes of future
Bulbs and seeds
Eradicating the overgrown
Senseless weeds
Of ivy and oak
And all the rest
Mother Nature doesn’t
Always know what’s best

A Famous Star

Vishnu
once
took
birth
in
your
form
long
long
ago.

You
were
once
ridiculed
by
a
proud
hare
for
moving
slow.

But
you
overtook
your
foolish
rival
in
a
single
race,
being
slow
but
steady,
and
thus
you
taught
the
world
a
great
moral.

You
are
a
famous
star!

Untitled

Lurking in the shadows,
like a coward it hid.
Waiting for the moment,
to prey on the kid.

The time was close,
the light grew bright.
And it stepped out,
in plain view sight.

Now tears of sorrow
grace each face.
They grow cold
as they see the place,

Where death overtook,
in the blink of an eye.
The wonderful man
to young to die.

The Passion

The Passion

It was a burning need
the desire to hold and hoard
not cars or rare antiques
but small and natural things

coloured stones from a beach
pales driftwood’s sculpted forms
parrots’ feathers of every hue
and discarded skin of a snake

such wonders of diversity
a bower built of treasured finds
until they overwhelmed my home
overtook the room for me.

Unwritten

He was a slave to one of his books
and for all of the looks
cast upward he then did wrong
The book had been his as a kid
the knowledge for what he did
all of the bad was written
Fake read and done as hes told
The binding grows old
as does the kid
When death overtook
no longer did the book
have any words
Page by page
Blank.
Unwritten, Overwritten, His story
Blank.

Fall Came Early

Fall came a trifle early
And it caught me unaware--
Seems the leaves began their falling
Turning circles in the air.

I could hear the end of summer
With the rustle of the trees--
As I latched up every window
To escape the chilly breeze.

But the cold it overtook me
As it slipped beneath the door--
And the moaning wind, it whispered:
"The summer is no more!"

A Happy Night

He smiled his crooked smile at me and I blushed. He took a slow step forward then he rushed, To my side, running his hands down my arms and then… Bliss, As the warmth of his mouth overtook mine again I knew for a fact he wasn’t lying. He was kissing me so tenderly I thought about crying, But I knew that wouldn’t be right Because this is suppose to be a happy night.

Love Condemned

There's no more pretending
or acting out parts.
There are just bitter endings
for two foolish hearts.
And, as I wade through
these half-written songs,
I can see the direction
we took all along.

The timing seemed perfect
for two willing hearts
to try and find comfort
and love of some sort.
We knew there was danger
in things that we tried,
but time overtook
our love and it died.

The Caller

After breach in tolerance
one peeled truth becomes incendiary.
Afraid of the known:
pitched against
unknown.

Dying young with stiff upper lip,
the grief,
was not curtained enough.
The malignant spread,
refused to retract a name from the epitaph.

Greed overtook
by calculation,
powerful thrust to run the winds,

the virgin grass will not surrender.
Lethal on the move, a humble shout
was nearer to god.

The Arrow

...and darkness fell.
The birds nested in silence.
The people retired their day.
The wind never stirred.
The moon never rose.
All was dark.
The sea laid still.
Calmness overtook.
Nothing became everything,
and Love shattered my all,
laying scattered within.
        Rage descended,
        and
        Death dove
        down
        as swift
        and sharp
        as the Arrow
        for the Kill!
...and darkness fell.

Love Is

Love is holding someones hand
while walking under the moon
wishing in your mind
that night won't end so soon

Love is forgivness
of others mistakes
and making things work out
no matter what it takes

Love is crying over death
missing someone so much it hurts
drenched in a cloud of misery
tears flowing from broken hearts

love is something powerful
that can't be overtook
you cannot even see it
unless you take a second look

Inner

I walk through the corners of my imagination
Feel I am able to touch
The mirror of a clear sky
With my fingers
To squeeze the clouds with the words unspoken
About love, understanding and friendship
To raise the black veil of sadness
Which overtook the mind
Each grain of emotion
Becomes then poetry
From wind petals
I collect the metaphors
Joyful children start playing
With happiness
A celestial peace inside me
When time puts its tired wings
On my shoulders
