There are no silver bullets,
Nor shortcuts,
No do-overs,
Or unfounded empathy,
There is only enlightenment,
To determine, one’s legacy

When I order a pizza
From a restraint
I eat as my meal
I will have left overs
It will be taken home
To have in the morn
For my morning meal

Premium Member Friends Have Each Other's Backs

McGirt and I are all-weather friends.
We can finish each other's thoughts.
We like to have sleep overs.
We include others.
We joke a lot.
Friends do that.
I smile.

Lovers start it off by having fun.
It's not them who deal with what's begun.
First, the doctor smacks you and you cry.
Even worse things happen. Then you die.

The Road To Heaven

Those who want to enter heaven;
Avoid passing through roundabouts
Never use fly-overs
Fear to choose short-cuts
The road to heaven is within you
It is a fixed route-one road one person
and one vehicle

Try To Retry

There is no retry.
There is not a checkpoint.
There is one try, to get across your point.
No do-overs, no re-do's.
No starting over, no take-two's.
No retakes.
No sequel.
Leaving mistakes.
Keeping all evil.

Premium Member Casserole Surprise

When we were first married we had casserole surprise on Fridays.
This was the day I combined all the left overs.
Sometimes it was tasty.
Other times not so great.
I figured if you added egg and made it into a loaf, it would be okay.
I figured wrong.

Overs

Unforgiving rocky crag
    juts
into empty space
hanging
on a whisper of frozen
   exhale
Puffy whiffs rise
oh
   so
      gently
lazy
Icy death on misslip
slippery ledge
free
     fall
         forgiveness
tumble me silent
     after all ...

The Beauty

Her ravishing youth
Peeps out of tattered clothes
Nature's heat and cold
Shy away to
Her sanity uphold
Hungry treacherous eyes
Feast on the left overs
Of material miseries

Dog Boys Obsession

I'm wrapped in a suit

some one combed my hair
fixed me up to look human

I am begging for this
longing for you

this obsession
is my waking thought

driven

I race and I romp
ready to pounce

I'm hungry for play
for small bites
and roll overs

I howl
 obsessed

One Life Left

One life left
 that's all I've got
 to have or have not,
no do-overs, no standing still
 only regrets mixed with joy
 as I climb the hill;
but I am thankful
 grateful to have time
 giving me a little push
to preserve all the memories
of me and you in the rush.

On the Losing Side

Mouths agape, we watch
In shock,denial and accept
Take overs, political and business

Royalty wants and gets control
As you are shut in, to shut up
The new abnormal rules

To those who know, shhhh
To those who don't, watch the numbers
Business unusual in the neighborhood

Premium Member What's For Lunch

Husband came in and said," What's for lunch?"
"Well", I said, "Left overs and sauteed chicken honey bunch"
Husband said to Rocky "Things are pretty scarce around here
I guess we"ll have to live on love".

Well now I am so weak I can hardly type
And the love well has gone entirely dry

Ottava Rima #1

I awaken in a bed full of space,
Listening to the silence that greets me.
I quickly find myself in the embrace
Of a room that is as dark as can be.
I cook my single serving eggs with grace,
With my single serving toast and hot tea.
My tea is conveniently made for one,
With no left overs, when the meal is done.
sad

Ha Ha

THERE ONCE WAS A DOG
WHO SAT ON A LOG
HE LOVED TO PLAY IN THE GASS
SWIM IN THE OCEAN AND CATCH BIG BASS
WENT BACK TO THE LOG WITH THAT BIG BASS
STRETCHED OUT AND STARTED EATING THE BSS
AS HE LAID STRETCHED( AND FULL ) OUT ON THE GRASS
THERE WAS NOTHING BUT LEFT OVERS OF THAT BASS
SPREAD OUT ALL OVER THAT GRASS

What's Left

You left me breaking and bleeding,
The shards of my porcelain heart
Are nothing but shattered
Remains of what they used to Be.
Useless.
You left me to pick up
The left overs of
What we might have had
Or what I felt for you
But of course
It meant nothing.

Premium Member Waiting

I am waiting
for when it’s all over
so that I can
start all over again
it’s a cycle

sometimes
there is a space
with a period of rest

sometimes
the all overs
overlap

sometimes
the all overs
are all over

I have faith
that
at some point
the all over
might be
all over
and there will be a space
