Premium Member At the Automotive Pageant

A rental car ought be comfy

Oohs and Aahs ~ save them for pageants
Roominess now mine; you keep the combatants

The Doggone Dog Contest

I guess it would cause oohs and ahhs
if I wrote of the doggie's doo dahs
So I'd best keep it clean
even though it will mean
this 'tale' will be wagging the dog, haha.

IN MEMPHIS

In Memphis, a stage delivers Elvis.
Excitement for girls - thundering pelvis.
They throw panties and bras,
Plenty of oohs and ahs.
In Memphis, the girls, hopelessly zealous.

Premium Member Zoo

Rare animals to see; that's the bait that draws me. The zoo is amazing; I spend hours just gazing. And my heart skips a beat; as oohs and aahs compete. But a cage isn't home; for creatures born to roam.

Premium Member A Humbugger's Bah's

This time of year inspires oohs and ahs
Waltzing dreams in the snow's camouflage
There seems to be some flaws
In this legendary cause
To many-a humbugger's bah's

And through winter thoughts meander
And we ask others in candor
Do you believe in [I pause]
This elusive Santa Claus
Sorry if I am raising your dander

Premium Member Now and Then

Fireworks now -- oohs, aahs, wows
Back then, musket shots in glens

Parades now -- amusing attractions
  Back then, soldiers in traction

Population now -- hundreds of millions
  Population then, 2,500 -- a dozen cotillions

Documents then -- Declaration of Independence
  Documents now -- Trillion-dollar Amendments

Premium Member Bursts Of Light

Like shooting stars, they pierce the dark, painting the sky with bursts of light. As oohs and ahhs follow each spark, like shooting stars, they pierce the dark. Fireworks explode over the park, raining color onto the night. Like shooting stars, they pierce the dark, painting the sky with bursts of light.

God’s Quieting’s

A sleeping baby a-coo’s
A grandma’s hug oohs!
A puppy’s lick on your cheek (O' so sweet)

A flagrant smell
God awesomeness

Serendipitous Smiles

as hot bronze skin meets the cool blue summer water oohs and aahs issue

Premium Member Moonstone Shines My Truth

pearl-like
     but not of the sea
               pregnant with opalescence

magic rainbows
          depths you cannot plunge
                     mesmerizing many

At nape of my neck
          in pendant form, drawing
                    oohs and ahs from strangers

Moonstone, shining my truth
         and my essence
                 Announcing me seconds before arrival

Not Vix Or Wd40

The vix and the vaseline, got mixed up in the dark, While whispering sweet nothings, with me kangaroo in park, It was 1963 ole mate, nah wd40 didn't try, With oohs n ohs a plenty, Me aggots set to fry, like a kangaroo dog climbing a post, Till it gave up the bloody ghost, Got up for tea n toast, Nough to make a sand goanna cry?? Don ....don't do it....

A Trapeze Flyer

circus performer a family tradition passed on to me a big top flyer Oohs and ahhs heard from below in the spotlight's heat higher I rise reaching for my partner's hands the moment of truth I hold my breath hundreds of feet above ground grabbing victory swinging freely after somersaults flying applause like music an entertainer my calling to defy laws of gravity

Premium Member Penny Rich

Birth, with stars in her eyes, exploding with mirth. Mollycoddled, swaddled, passed off by nurses. Aperture opens, closes - checking out earth. The peacock calligrapher inks fair verses. Not bad for a Penny - they sold a circ worth. The switchboard oohs and ahhs as she converses. Under the sagacious skies, each phonation Recorded in babbles with their duration. 9/24/2022

Premium Member Shiny Pyrite Exudes With Hope

In a gold miner’s camp shiny pyrite
Showing a metallic excellence
Prettier than the real thing
Oohs and ahhs are all around
Pyrite shared happily
Revealed at last
Losing her lore
Fakery
Untrue
Gold
Lone
Pyrite
Angel’s rock
Optimism
Exuding with hope
Has her own properties
Miner’s camp comes back to life
A gorgeous stone is this pyrite?
Appreciated for herself now
Compared to no other rock or metal

Premium Member Dreaming of Creamsicle

Dreaming of creamsicle vanilla and orange swirls My tongue is swimming, diving into the delectable spoonfuls of tangoing flavors of joy-bursting “ahh.” Better yet - creamsicle milkshake, that goes straight to the mind with “oohs” and “ahhs.” It’s only a dream. A tribute. Only one spoonful - it, sits on my tongue, cold and dangerous, then the current takes it in like a sin. Sinful not to lavish one bite. 10/11/2022

Classics Buff

Someone is probably doing an aria,
that labored shrill fit for the opera.

Another soul croons a lilting lullaby,
oohs and aahs rising up to the sky.

Undoubtedly that's a loud trombone,
solidly played, a no-nonsense boom.

Surely I hear a lone trumpet blowing,
pfffttt, that unmistakable errie sound.

A lush symphony of timeless sounds
enlivening my mid-morning rounds.

A poor cleaner-turned-classics buff,
making a living in a public restroom!

Pure Magic

poetry is ;

pulling a velveteen rabbit
out of a moth-eaten top hat
to the oohs and awws
of a wide-eyed children’s crowd

words flowing faster
than tongues wagging
from pursed dry lips
begging for a bit of water

poetry is;

flowering in the middle
of some nameless desert’s
shimmering heat precisely
at high noon

the sparkle of moisture
an illusion pure
without any slight
of human hand

poetry is pure magic
word imagery
without compare

The Light Truth

Morning heartaches,
I don't want to awake,
Could sleep all day long,
Only if I had no worries.

Is it soo dramatic,
Or they play harder on me ,
Would someone breath in,
I can't help the aching moments.

Oohs! You will come on summer, we should try to pass through,
Has your promises ever Elapse,
They wouldn't be that cruel.

Am a person of Persia,
Resilient my pleasure,
Fighting outs for giants,
Till I know I should stop.

What We Don'T Need

No one really needs the gifts
We buy this time of year.
Recipients fake oohs and aahs,
Most likely insincere.

The scarves and watches, soaps and mugs,
Pajamas, books and brandy
Are purchased just for custom’s sake,
Like Halloween and candy.

We agonize ‘bout what to buy,
Then shop and shop and shop;
And when each listed name’s checked off,
We finally can stop.

I wish I could sit out this game –
I’ve had it to the hilt;
But if I didn’t get each gift,
I would be wrapped in guilt.
