Nod God

the job
sucks

the mob
lusts

the friend
ends

the man
aches

the future
leaps

the girl
waits

for the god
to once again nod

On this day, you must rest
    to pass my Sabbath test
       thunders Almighty God

    Not to rest’s
    a bigger test, (sigh i)

Nod To Andrea

Hippocrates was really good
At curing most ailments with food
Your body knows best
Put it to the test
And choose food which best suits your mood!*

*e.g., a pregnant woman choosing sauerkraut ice cream

Premium Member Deer Gives Me a Gentle Nod

Deer gives me a gentle nod
Stepping daintier than plod
I smile a sweet hello
We do not have far to go

A sharp stick broken warns her
Bolt and gone in October
Autumn day with leaves so fair
Wise coolness in the air

Premium Member Nature and Her Nod

holy peace transcends over the lake
I put down my oar,
even the lap of the water was a disruption

there is a heartfelt silence
nature’s nod
I am humbled and awed

I shut my eyes
allowing the boat to drift
as the last bits of sun descend in the west

Gave Claude Nod and Sent to God

we gave Claude a nod
sent his poems to friends and God
spoiled child and spared rod.

Great things God has done
we will always love His Son
He is Holy one

with God friends would share
He and Son are quite a pair
sins are hard to bare

when we have great news
each page read then we will use
tickle and amuse

On The Wall - A nod to Omar Khayyam 1048-1131

If it is written, so be it, but who'll admit to writing what was writ when the fan is hit? And, if, having inscribed, the finger does proceed, whose digit was it when the words were decreed? Yet, carved in stone, or etched on glass, who'll confess to pouring such concrete when it comes to pass?

A recent brush with death,
makes most people reflect..
They stop and think of God,
not just give him a nod..
It's been less then two weeks
and Trump's back to nasty tweets..
True colors flaring again, slings
mud at Joe Biden.
This man has got the nerve,
"Biden's not fit to serve".
President Biden deciding not to rerun,
not enough for some Republicans..

Premium Member The Land of Nod - Ode To Insomnia

We who dwell in the Land of Nod
do not find it the least bit odd

That as the head gets heavy and the eyelids droop
  We awaken to lines of

  eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss-es

MAYBE A NOD

MAYBE A NOD

No surprises, I detect no empathy
The young, they don’t understand
Yet probably even do not want to
The old always know it all so well
And each wish to be the recipient
Never the giver, no empathy left
Understanding, but leave it there
A future view is one day at a time
Expect little, except maybe a nod

Empathy is rare
Or at least is rarely shown
Just understand why

Premium Member Nod To God

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod,
Decided to speak to God.
Wynken was thinkin,
If he left it to Blynken;
It wouldn't burden Nod.

Blynken was of the mind,
Him and Wynken were two of a kind.
He'd forget about Nod,
Cause he thought he was odd;
And couldn't relate to God.

But, Nod had his own plan;
And knew God would understand.
He'd forgive the two,
About the doubts that grew.
Thus, Nod would speak to God.
