Nature and Her Nod

holy peace transcends over the lake
I put down my oar,
even the lap of the water was a disruption

there is a heartfelt silence
nature’s nod
I am humbled and awed

I shut my eyes
allowing the boat to drift
as the last bits of sun descend in the west
