The Day Is Done Monotetra
watching now that last moment sun
it turns away and starts to run
leaving it's bright lit light for none
the day is done, the day is done....

Vicious Circle
He drank another pint of beer,
And saw the shadows disappear;
The answers to his problems clear,
He had no fear, he had no fear.

He felt so ill when morning came,
And stayed in bed, alone and lame,
He knew he had the beer to blame,
When no one came, when no one came.

Loneliness
This state I could no longer bear,
For long, life has not been so fair ,
Left alone with no one to care,
This I despair, this I despair.

I dream of living without pain,
death has made this to be in vain,
Loneliness runs in me like train,
I`m not insane,I`m not insane.

Stop It! (Monotetra)
I come to you because I care
I see you here. I see you there.
You really are going nowhere.
And this I share. And this I share.

Stop your playing; too mischievous.
You’re acting so delirious!
You’re making me so furious!
Get serious! Get serious!

Premium Member And One For You
When all have opportunity,
All start the same: equality
When outcomes are all you can see
Thats’s equity, that’s equity

A thumb required to make scales “true”
And who better than you-know-who
Here’s two for me, another two
And one for you, and one for you

Unlike tricoleuse knitting room –
I hadn’t much fun by light of moon.
The crows at dawn abated soon.
I fairly swoon – I fairly swoon.

*tricoleuse: One of a number of women who sat knitting while attending public executions during the French Revolution. (3 syllables per Howmanysyllables, but no stressed syllable identified)

Famously referred to in A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens...

Premium Member Dew Kissed Face
Lips wet with dew kiss my sad face.
A knowing smile crosses her eyes.
She sees much more than anyone.
Lips wet with dew.

Today's a gift, healed by a kiss.
My loneliness is swept away.
What made me think I was alone?
Today's a gift

My tears spill out I'm overwhelmed
She is the angel in my midst
A heart compleatly filled with love
My tears spill out

Was attempting the monotetra contest
Didn't realize it had to rhyme.

8/8/8/4 first four sylables repeating...

Premium Member A Woman In the News
From her garage, with no delay,
she started to back out one day,
not seeing in her own driveway
a child at play; a child at play.

One moment cannot be rewound.
She’d never heard a single sound
but felt the impact; on the ground
her son she found; her son she found.

We should not judge her for the sake
of mercy since her grave mistake
must place on her - guilt hard to take,
A lifelong ache, a lifelong ache.

Many Splendours - Monotetra Contest
The picture shows a sailing  dhow
With billowing  sails ready to go
Far out to sea, where, they dont know,
Where wind doth blow, where wind doth blow

An adventure is soon in place
Countries anew to see in haste
To meet people of a new race
Life to embrace, life to embrace

Return homeward if wind allows
Stories to tell of birds and flowers
Happy people that welcomed ours.
Many splendours, many splendours.

God's awesome artistry behold,
Trees ablaze with leaves red and gold,
Autumn's fiery colors bold,
Beauty untold, beauty untold.

Summer's heat slowly fades away,
As Autumn's coolness makes its way.
A welcome change I have to say,
Is a fall day, is a fall day.

Autumn's beauty won't last for long,
Colors will fade with Winter's song.
Dull and gray 'til Spring comes along,
With new life's throng, with new life's throng.

It can be tough, following rules
I can try but may lack the tools
Some may think it's a game for fools
It can be tough

I am confused, I think and think
Perhaps easier with a drink
But when I'm sober it may stink
I am confused

Words like weather, can always change
Some I start with I rearrange
A few make sense others are strange
Words like weather

This is the end of my small write
Out of the dark into the light
It may be wrong it may be right
This is the end

I Beg of You (Monotetra)
I come to you on bended knees
To beg of you, oh honey, please
For they’re not wants, but are my needs
My destiny, my destiny

Please give me your eternal grace
Shine love upon my wanting face
As you can never be replaced
Time can’t erase. Time can’t erase.

I see my love within your eyes
As beautiful as clear blue skies
For you, my love is not disguised
Else my heart dies. Else my heart dies.

Across the room their eyes did meet
She heard the song, she felt the beat
They danced all night to rhythms sweet
It was a treat, it was a treat

She saw the passion in his eyes
Her desire she could not disguise
They shared kisses and ecstasy's prize
as heartbeats rise, as heartbeats rise

Was it love that this dance had spanned
 Was it destiny's winning hand
Or was it something less than grand
A one night stand, a one night stand
