As the local transit bus stopped and unloaded
Seconds after, a powerful bomb exploded.
We knew that terrorists had struck again,
Causing mistrust and fear, to everyone’s chagrin
Nearby a ten-story apartment house imploded.

I overheard harsh words
between two lovers next door,
each bearing shields
of mistrust and pride
that covered the words
‘I love you’.
Their door slowly opens
and her crying issued forth
upon this neighbor near
a memory fresh and clear
of words I never spoke
‘I love you’.
Hijack
Strategy employed in a hijack
You cannot tell or crack
Each time, new clever tricks
That are a plus to statistics!
Criminals, they say, are ahead
Is it not alertness that is dead?
Mistrust even your shadow
And avert this baleful blow!!

You pompous poison
Maze of monotonous mistrust
Frail heart full of treason
Delirious repentance
Blasphemous bait betrayed
Regret grown grief
Fire flaming fantasy filled
A fate framed future foretold
Love can now rest knowing
Your destined diabolical death
Farewell false foe
Lay
Occasionally right,
However, mostly wrong
Like fraudulent daylight,
Tall tales which suffer long
That frequent deafened ears,
So demonstrates belief.
Anticipating fears
May offer some relief.
While filtering the smoke
Of life's insanity,
The gasping children choke.
From predators prey flea.
Hurt confusion still holds its grip
Trying to raise above the pain of total betrayal
Truth has opened my eyes
This was not love
Love doesn't hurt, guilt or mistrust
Love is devotion, kindness and understanding
Love is compassion and selflessness
Love is not sacrificing who you are, it is embracing everything you are
He asked me to kiss him today like he usually did….
Dabbing my back like an impatient kid needing the loo
I tiredly turned slowly to his usually soft forehead kiss….
… but today his lips tasted like mistrust.
The kind layered in smirks of betrayal
Mucus sounds and other disgusting visuals
for his twisted amusement...
