Premium Member All Russians Love Chili
All Russians love chili.
How do you know?
I met one once.

All Mexicans love bluebirds.
How do you know?
I heard from my cousin.

All Whites love Trump.
I am white.
I know.

My teeth cringe....

The Lettuce Workers
The Lettuce Workers

Somewhere in California
a midnight one-eyed bus shoots

lettuce farm past lettuce farm
to abutment and a kiss.
Now the morning papers cry

15 sleeping Mexicans
glowed an hour or more.

To Be Remembered
The Mexicans have a phrase
“Feo fuerte y formal”
Which means
“He was ugly, strong and had dignity”
And was how John Wayne wanted to be remembered

When the dust has cleared
And I am at my final rest
I wonder if this phrase will apply.

Premium Member Flat Wrong
The Spanish had armadas; the Americas, flotillas. The Amazon has capybara; the Andes has chinchillas. Kentucky has its sassafras; Madagascar has vanilla. Napoleon lost at Waterloo; Frazier, in Manila. Will a person tell the Mexicans how to pronounce tortilla?

Premium Member Trump In the Nether Nether
TRUMP IN THE NETHER NETHER

If irate American born Mexicans were to rally together,
Around the world, they could perhaps cunningly tether,
Possibly calm, an uncaring, inhumane disliked leader
Maybe curb the actions of this Mexican bleeder,
Or, banish him forever to the land of nether, nether!

Trump's Wall
He promised that the Mexicans
Would pay for that damned wall,
Not our federal employees
Who now could lose it all;
So much major grandstanding
Built on years of lies
As he tries to turn our heads
From his Russian allies;
It’s not about stopping folks
From entering our towns,
Just a dog whistle to his kind
Who simply hate all browns....

Paeon To a Texas Victory
I sing the joy of victory won this day at San Jacinto.
General Sam Houston and his men defeated a large armed force.
Mexicans were defeated at this run by a "rudimento".
They did not watch for Texans who could attack now from a new course.
Travis and friends are finally now repaid for their well spent lives.
Soldiers did fall defending a brick town structure fore help arrives....

Premium Member Cinco De Mayo
In 1862, Mexicans were elated
As the French army was decimated
Today is Cinco de Mayo
Tacos—free Pico de gallo!
The Battle of Puebla is celebrated

Emperor Maximillian was fooled
by the Mexicans he thought he ruled
Carlota, the Queen, insane
Died back in France from her pain
After a firing squad had ensued

Note: The Chapultepec Castle:
Maximilian and Carlota´s Love Story...

Premium Member Tijuana Rain Puts Me Into a Mood
Tijuana rain puts me into a siesta like mood
I sit by the window allowing her to lull me to sleep
relaxing the way only Mexicans know how to relax
releasing troubles, trials and tribulations of this week

my roommates tiptoe around me, shushing each other
I appreciate their concern, feeling their love and tolerance.
she is pretty when she sleeps, one says, which surprises me.
I slip gently into dreamland, unaware now of the others....
