A sight perhaps dawn or night,
With shadows, that enlight.
Your ken mayhaps not bright,
Yet your mind is might.
Not a blank slate;
But an eager fate
To learn, not hate
To earn, to create.

red cardinal hops onto tiny branch of lilac tree
it’s near dusk
at first, I thought he was a shadow creature
my eye caught a glimpse of his dark movements
his feathers are scarlet
he hops a bit, then flies off
a spirit message?

ice fishing
is there a science to it
that's fiction
I say that
cause my fish is somewhat small
mayhaps your hole is too small
if you make your hole bigger
your fish will be bigger too
twas tough getting this big fish out from that hole
well the bigger the hole the bigger the fish

Trochaic Pentameter
Janus, Roman gate god, welcomes new year.
Looking both directions, backward, forward,
he doth see past time, your future's quite clear.
Whether times will be good, mayhaps froward,
guardsman know if you are brave or coward.
Celebrate this new beginning, make cheer,
take year by the throat, remember - no fear!

Reduced to an acquaintance
That you mayhaps bump as you cross the street
In contrast to nights in which sleep did not exist
Grass in our hair and naked
Dampened by the sprinklers in dimly lit streets
And miles walked barefoot
Without an ounce of fatigue
The most passionate and understanding love I've ever known
Reduced to an acquaintance.

Found in space
possible sighting
worthy of closeup
change of course
wonder on the horizon
a balanced theme
an event of sorts
natural or not
a peculiar thing
mayhaps instrumental
tis unfortunate
no contact
be it but a scene
a wallpaper
our viewing point
seems war-like
set course for home
nothing here but shadows.

There is a hill of grass and fern
I walked it as a boy and still,
Those well worn tracks that twist and turn
Impart to me that childhood thrill.
In amongst the fern, the sheep
Spend the day neath sunlit skies,
They graze away, or mayhaps sleep
Ignoring me, as I pass by.
Effortless it is not,
Yet worthy aye, the time.
Think not only of the top,
The joy is in the climb.

I've never nictate I'm too curious and I move of my own will so don't pretend to see me
I'll conceal from you in cranny of psyche you have no conception nor even idea of
I'm what you mayhaps lost down the back of the sofa I'm tiny and at same time stone-cold
I shine in the moon's dim light keeping the dark away Yeah That's how it to be called
Step out from darkness Yeah I'm ethereal!

If we'd lived in olden days
days of yore
the golden days
and I were a troubadour
I'd serenade you with my lute
unless I had a flute to toot
or go more than the extra mile
and sing a song to make you smile
not with the end of a lance
would I beg my lady's favour
but gallantly request a dance
mayhaps a carol we could savour
to fight and kill the dragon
and do it all with no fear
I'd pull Excalibur from the stone
for my dear Guinevere
