My little dog hides in high grass;
Her blackness crawls between iris stalks,
I spend my time spotting her,
That she not find her way away.

The fence is chain link, covered with ivy,
She hides even there, I worry.
Maxie is my friend, she comforts me.

As if we were rabbits
All that's needed for our happiness
Is the end of the world

I woke this morning to a sound of strange digging
A little grave for a little dog

She belonged to my neighbor
 
A man with only one arm and a garden
Too big for this world

All that's needed for any heaven
Covered with pine needles at the bottom

To think I’m now a hermit,
Cloistered in my home,
Haven’t been outside except on my deck,
And even then alone.

I phone in now my groceries,
Amazon is more than busy.
I just found on the porch 24 little gel cups,
And see a house dress is on its way.

I don’t understand myself.

Seems like I don’t want anyone,
Where has everyone gone and “went?”
