Ode To Oliver Twist

  It's nutritious food we lack...

Fee-fi-fo-fum
I smell the blood
  of a malnourished orphan

Bite Size Poem

My feeding is true yet malnourished
Soul seeking though astonished
Devices of form and virtue
Draining the core tips of mankind

I see the world
Let me live it

Broke

Here lies my wallet.
On my desk he sleeps.
His malnourished stomach’s
been empty for weeks.

No family survived him.
There is only me,
With no way to pay off
his burial fee.

Poetic Pills

Poet feeds
     of illusions
     that's why he is always
     malnourished

    God does not
    transform faith
    of believers
    but inspires
    faith atheists

Stunning Visitor

There’s a stunning visitor in my house
He introduces himself, Santa Clause
I could hardly believe him
He looks malnourished and thin
He adds, go on diet as age arouse.

Fiyameta

Moving silently without direction
Like an old Saint
Quick yet perturbed
Mimicking a malnourished child

A silhouetted figure in the dark
Slithers across the curve of the Earth
While the dewdrops gather at their pruned toes
Just to find
You.

Untitled

I'm Not wordy
I'm worth it
My cursive
Encourages the mind, malnourished

Enquiring on allusive conclusions
Is not cruel or foolish
It is
True
The most infinitive quest of life
To question and test
to prove or neglect
to mourn or adapt
These are the most natural states of being

Industrial Beasts

Once, the sounds of industry,
giant leather belts squealing,
gears grinding, endless pounding,
steam billowing, strong aromas
emanated from factories holding
the dangerous machine beasts,
tended by, tired,malnourished,
men, women and children
shackled to their charges
by chains of poverty

A Fistful of Senryu

A fading intent
Lost amid echoed voices
A blurring of lines

A meaningless word
Adrift on a feeling
Softness or sting

Her eyes lied
As she spoke her “truth”
A lover’s denial

A barb blindly tossed
An unnoticed flinch
An unshed tear

Malnourished
When the wise lack wisdom
Un-nurtured youth

Worn Out Relic

O Lord,
'Tis a decade gone
Since thy curse fell upon us.
The malnourished children are no more,
The poor soil lieth barren.
Lord, what hast thou wrought upon our village?
Mine only companions be the flies and the toads.
Thy shadow resteth beside mine empty grave.
I am not wroth with thee,
Yet surely have I all the right to be so.

The Flower

Above a dark hill
One flower
A flower amongst others fallen

His skinny malnourished browning trunk among them
His pale face watches and ponders
His eyes slowly dimming like the stars

The stars die fast then are born again
That's what we see through our eyes
How fast do we pass

How fast do our eyes dim
To the stars above
In their dark cloudy space

Sleep writing

If sleep was a meal I’d be starving
Malnourished despite my carving
Out a routine for sleep in my bed
Pen in hand and sandy words in head

For poetry soup soothes my soul
Relaxes my mind helps me grow
Challenging me to write all night
Since I’m not asleep may as well right

Write what’s wrong from my view
Write whats right also a to do
Finally my muse comes for me
Just as I feel the feathers of sleep

I Need Love

What I need most in my life is love. 'cos I am malnourished of affection. My heart is
starving of nourishment for tender loving care. I yearn for genuine unconditional
love. A love that will be loving most of the time. A love that will be understanding
majority of the time. A love that will give abundant of love frequently. I need love
because it is food for the heart and head and without it, I will starve;hence, dead.

Sister

I was locked in jail of world
You become my spritual guider

I was unaware of worldly dealings
You become my best broker

I got stuck in various situations
You become my lawyer

Growing at my age of distraction
You become my guru

At my every mistake
You become my parent

My passion and talent were malnourished
You become my dietician

I was recognized as nayan
Because you become my sister(unnati)

Retrenched Women

RETRENCHED WOMEN

The soul aches
    numbs the brain
          Pictures float away of women
             crying, laughing, ironing sheets
thinking about jobs and sex
         finding work and
              cooking cheap spaghetti

Playing with malnourished children
     recovering from trauma, turmoil
        turbulence, schizophrenia
             from wombing life and giving
                              garlands of open hands

Tamales

Hot tamales door to door
Knocking on doors along the sun baked street
Ten inch sub rotting on the dusty ground
Souls breaking under my feet
In pile of money the politician rolls
Malnourished beg for more
Poaching saints from grassy knolls
Black ants devour the ranch covered sub they’ve found
Sewer gasses emerging from fractured concrete
From the skull of a timber rattler crawls a paraplegic spider
Corn tortillas rolled on the bathroom floor

Here Kitty Kitty Kitty Squirrel

I have a question a wondering thought imagine this and that... If a squirrel is a rodent? Why? Then why is it such a cute little critter; And when they procreate do they also have a litter; With a big fluffy tail looking like a skinny malnourished cat, ...that's just to silly; That a squirrel is just a pretty rat; There's one in my front yard he likes corn cobs I've named him Billy;

My Monster

It lurks in the dark,
waiting to be fed by me - a great
appetite it has!
Sometimes I feed it knowingly,
other times unknowingly.
It's growth patterns is somewhat irregular-
one minute it's too large and stout,
other times it's malnourished and stunted.
People get frightened when they see its reflection
in my eyes; violence is its symbolism.
The problem with the monster is that it doesn't
have a body. Spiritual warriors tell me that only
my mind can kill it.....

Slave of Poetry

phrases whipped
feelings Pen"man"Shipped
from Continental African Minds,
to AmeriCaribbean Paper Colonies
i am a Slave of Poetry

toiling under hot shining scrutiny
in boundless green feelings
i am a Slave of Poetry

shackled in the dark
dark corners of my mind
malnourished of inspiration
i am a Slave of Poetry

escape this
critics hounding my heels
"massa" hunting me down
how many more till
i can write my freedom
become a Poet
no longer a Slave of Poetry
