Loving Like H20

Our love flows tidal wave
Carrying us both along
One is pulling out to sea
Another pushing ashore
Sailing under burning sun
Below the glowing moon
In spate, capsizing doubt
Navigating every coast
Floating above everything
Arriving mainland soon

In a Hollow Between Waves

Thinking
of you,
of a time
before the blood of grapes,
in tides of red,
erodes
the tombolo*
of us.

Wondering
if the past
in the future,
flowing over
like a disordered rogue wave,
deposits swashmarks
in the sand of me.

*A bar of sand joining an island to the mainland.

No Rain Today

dark grey clouds
quickly scurry north
revealing white bank of clouds
suspended over the mountains
of the mainland

here on the island
the view is always
mountains, sky and sea

faster they move now
leaving a brightness behind
that we have missed

no rain today
those clouds have blown away

Adapting To the Good Life - Or

Schmooze me darling, my appetite is rapt. Drinks with umbrellas - a tropical freeze. Cruise for teal blue waters whilst I adapt. Shrinks the mainland - aims towards* coconut trees. Muse takes the wheel - island adventure mapped. Winks his erotic eye - how wild the seas. Weather for sailing - no longer a wreck, Tether me, baby, to your wafting deck.

Decay

^Truth is the smallest of all cays.
Surrounded by blood waters of the past...
the dorsal fins of doubt and deception.
Only the brave dare takes the chance.
To swim out to it and fend off the thrash.

Most would rather stay where they're at.
With the plush comforts of the arrogant mainland.
Suckling poison fruits of ego and half-truths...
then sashay upon the decay of the damned^

Borneo Pygmy Elephants

Borneo Pygmy Elephants are listed as, endangered
and they were isolated, about 300 thousand years ago
from their cousins, on mainland Asia and Sumatra
and they are known as, the smallest Asian Elephant

They have shrinking forests, with human settlements
and there’s a lot of logging, with a conveyor belt running
There are palm oil plantations, creating a lot of sediment
and a lot of agriculture, destroying their natural environment

Sandbar

I dwell on this sandbar.
Between the shallows and the deep.
So free and yet so oppressed.
But during the rarest of moments
I truly know that I am blessed.

Do I make for the mainland.
Facing riptides of salt and teeth.
Or wade through sharpened coral hearts.
onto that cay of stagnant familiarity.

I tend to teeter toward the shallow.
but there are pools so blue -so deep.
So why do I ride this burning sandbar?
It's out of fear I tend to think.

Ambush

A brook cascades daintily extant
~ flowing gayly heart’s incited joy
Meandering, nestles on Peace
~ quivering restraints strain ‘n squirm
Breaking-bank, careens downwards
~ extols faith’s grim heart-bomb
Undulating, veering waves extrapolate
~ Yonder’s zooming blue-adieu
Sojourns, so-longs, traversing under veils
~ weathering wry extremes
Heart’s incessant journey keels love’s mainland
~ new opaque's reach...

Fighting For Shore

The lively mainland quietly fights the lonely shore,
Courage, faith, and endurance.

The rough mast quietly gets pulled into the sun,
The dead lad loudly commanding the mast.
Why does the breeze die?
Sailing calmly on a misty mid afternoon.

Rough captains quietly attempt to navigate,
Seas grow with when more lads plunge to their death,
The men try not to think about the men lost at sea.

They listen for commands,
And pray to go home,
They fight to get to shore.
