football mug

coffee is a football mug

join us as we chug a lug

no matter the team

next time serve it in a jug.

Voelvry

Voëlvry

Niks wat hom keer
die voël in die lug
sy vryheid word meer
en vryer word die vlug

Strek jou vlerke oop
En pak die lewe aan
Staan op en loop
Die harde lewensbaan

Bitsy Bailey Bug and Rodneys Poodle and Pug

Bittersweet bitsy Bailey bug
Rock and rolled in Rodney’s rug
Had he partaked of a daily drug?
Rodney was sick of Bailey’s crazy mug
Time to go home, he told the lug
Just one more chug, said Bailey bug
He was chased off by Rodney's poodle and a pug.

Bourbon High Cola

There was a young man from Pensacola
Who chug-a-lug a bourbon high cola
Gave it try
Eyes did cry
Head swirled like he was on a Victrola.

A Victrola is a record player that used to spin those old platters, 66, 33 RPM. If you care, you can boot up a picture of one on your chosen website.

Ode To An Oldie

There once was a bucket from Nantucket
[Trump*]'s aides must make time to lug it
While running for office
His sh!t from each orifice
Needs giant commodes just to flush it

Smoking

i've tried to give up smoking!
something i totally reject
just a load of toking
but i still want a cigerette!

it makes your skin smell
your body rank
makes your veins swell
your hair lank

i'll give up the smoke!
i promise to eject
just one more toke
only one cigerette

it boils your blood
your heart goe's thump
go on gussa a lug
gives you a cancer lump

Rough Women Action

Take a ballet slipper full of dancer’s blood,
A broken drop light and a lug wrench,
A Chevy fender splashed with bayou mud,
Your boyfriend shackled to his work bench.
Use a duck tape gag that’s labeled Gator Bait,
So only God will hear his dying wish.
Leave the swamp gate open, pour a drink and wait.
That’s how jealous Cajun women ghoti.
Hell hath no fury like a woman hooked on phonics.

H U G S

Come here, you big lug!

                            Don’t give me a shrug!

Or I’ll give you a slug!

                           Put down that mug!

Come give me a hug!

                           Cause that is my drug!

Got the loneliness bug!

                           Let’s roll on the rug!

And get really snug!

                           Oh, come…..

               Come give me a H U G!!!

Ants

Mortally wounded, a soldier writhes in pain,
crawls bloody on the burnt,
bloodied earth.

From up a crag, a sniper takes aim again
to finish off a task
bereft of mirth.

On the ground, ants lug hefty loads around lumps
of seared soil, singed sand and
torched boulder splinters

to build again and again their anthill crushed
by blood-stained boots of the
slain and the slayers!

Rags

RAGS
You have rags
Of rags
Some bragging rags...
Must be your rag,
Because you have rags
With nothing in them
Except a bifurcate rag;

You have enough rags for life,
For a billion stars in the sky__
If there was a total number of lug rags
You would tote have it
 In the rag,
I wonder why you hoard so many rags
When all you ever put in them
Are other dirty rags.

Gift Giving To the Boss

We tossed gifts onto her desk until she was surrounded by them.
They were soon on the floors, because there was no space left
On her counters, her shelves, her chairs, her couch, her bookcase.
She is the boss; and I am sure would like us to stop.
However, we all want to get something in there,
incase she is one of those bosses that likes us accordingly.
Surely she isn’t I think as I lug in a giant gift bag of stuff.

Hunger

Here,
where the black white shadows
pond and melt
her dress
flutters around the
pronounced scimitar
of her neck line.

Eyes whisper
fr-ig-id
with a syllabically thick accent
as if cold were a ham-fisted lug
emerging from the
yawning dark mouth
of the cabin behind her
pressing his hands
with the grip
of a dying man
bracing his last breath
with each
light blue,
half moon
fingernail.

Last Imprints

Jammed in sand,
my imprints were clear,
they reminded me of those time,
that were in the least very dear,
It was the walk,
which made the talk,
it was the amble,
which was my biggest gamble,
I had firmly dug,
my feet with a determine lug,
I had gone across,
from from real,
to the undefined ethereal,
in front of mass of people,
on the sea shore with sea in ripple,
I had vanished in thin air,
leaving behind my earthly wares.

To Destroy, To Build

mortally wounded, a soldier writhes,
crawls bloody on the bloodied earth

behind a boulder, a sniper takes aim again
to finish off a task so bereft of mirth

as worker ants lug hefty loads around lumps
                        of earth and boulder splinters

to rebuild an anthill crushed by bloodstained
boots of the slain and the slayers.

Understanding Me

Walk with me, my sister
I’ll tell you what I see
I’m holding the hand of my Mommy
Except she’s only 2 ½ yrs older than me

Don’t get me wrong, she’s brave
She had to tie chisels to her lace
Trade in pink and lavender
For the blue and black covering her face

They took her vanity fair
Where she used to sit and drink in her beauty
They gave her a toddler body to lug around
I became her undesired duty.

Venting

I got a hair pin trigger
Got a holster on my hip
Put a nickel on my needle
So my record don't skip

My attitude is ugly
There's no beauty in my beast
My attention span is faulty
And my anger has increased

I got a nasty disposition
Got a thirst I cannot quench
It smells like broken spirit
I can hardly stand the stench

I got a sudden disconnection
Lug the load that's on my mind
I am NOT your great sensation
I'm the son that never shined

Light the Love Light

Now that the sun is set
The sky is cold and gray,
Should I for a bit rest?
I have come a long way!

The night is grim and still,
The bare trees stand at bay,
And there sits a dark hill –
We wait the break of day.

Oh, I am lost and worn
Yet I must not here stay,
Lug my load and move on
If love just light my way.

The burden of my woe,
Along the thorn-strewn road,
Help me find, where I go,
Kindred souls to unload!

Never Say Boogeyman

"Don’t fuss anymore, just sleep tight
Boogeyman will hear and lug you away
stuffed in his hideous, grey, musty sac",
she warned her little boy every night.

Boogeyman “Cancer” made no sound
just crept in silently as she slept
into her child’s room and blood
stole him from Earth’s playground.

Don’t ever please say Boogeyman
she lifelong urged all moms
what you say may come alive
‘coz Gods hear only when they can!

Beg For One More Keg

Beg for One more Keg

To stand on could not find leg
So decided I should beg
For another keg.

Then I did give her a hug
One more hole myself in dug
And did chug a lug.

Cannot stand for very long
Soon started to sing a song
Where did I go wrong?

If goals you were to surpass
Must have drunk another glass
And then urine pass.

Another great Horn haiku
from way out of the blue.
