Who, Indeed

Lordy, forty, kind regards!
we’ll be standing in your yard.
Pranking friends, we never tire:
fifteenth letter, set on fire...

Burning Bush

See, Bathsheba looks hot in the tub, gives King David a bit of a chub. He exclaims, “Lordy, Moses!” then, Uriah, disposes, and gets burned when he burns for that shrub.

I Wished I Had Stayed In Bed

Listen to poem:
Isn’t there just days you wished you had stayed in bed
I went to the shops, and a seagull crapped on my head

Everyone laughing saying you know it means good luck
Not quite what I thought, as trying to remove the muck

Yeah, Lordy, how I wished I had stayed in bed

Daft-- Couch Potato

Dear Lordy, what have you done
this loony spouse given me…
he rants and TV- clicks all night
much like a freakish banshee!

Obsessed with horror movies
remote control is life's drug:
This model needs rebooting,
It's time for urgent de-bug.

Starry Eyed (A Decastitch)

Honest to goodness golden stars-
Embedded in my Baby's eyes;
Flecks of bronze on fields of green.
Lordy! how they mesmerize.
Mischief filled; slight hints of sorrow and;
Several shades of wisdom.
PromisesOf wonderful, wicked , sweet surprise.
She had me hooked
The first time I gazed upon-
Golden starbursts, In Baby's eyes.

Birthday Girl

Am I being too bold?
To say Lordy! You’re OLD

Old enough to grow
Old enough to know
Old enough to show
Old enough to sow
Old enough to flow
Old enough to glow…

Glowing as you are
Glowing as a star
that sparkles so bright
at the speed of light…

***Written for a very special and unique lady to celebrate her upcoming birthday
(Oh well, what the hell…It’s for her contest too)

Machiavelli

Machiavelli s'been stewing
teardrops in the Soup

Stooping to new lows
for SYMPATHY
stirring chickens in the coop

Seems some folks will do anything
for what they think is fame
Swiss cheese stories for glory
Lordy! Whaddah' shame!

Reminds me of two classic movies...
"Freddie Lives" and the other is
"The Crying Game"...
but this one's very unbelievable, it ain't scary,
and it's much
MUCH more lame!~

Forty

After forty days of rain, Earth could then begin again. Forty days and nights fasting, Christ proved he is everlasting. In forty years, which flies, a new generation will rise. Despite all this, oh Lordy! your life BEGINS at forty! Written 1/24/2016 for the Silent One Happy Happy Birthday and it really is true that life begins at forty!!! (note: to the American ear, 40 is "fordy"

Spotting a Sasquatch

It is a Sasquatch said a child who has seen several I know.
It was hairy and tall, lumbering along in the deep snow.
Moving faster than most of us who are wearing snowshoes.
Is there ever a pair? Do we ever see them in two’s?

It’s an ape, probably has run off from the zoo, I bet.
Said my far-sighted neighbor, Mrs. Tootles McRett.
We did not know what it was but did not run after it either.
We are smarter than that said my cousin, Lordy McTeter.

A Bottle of Red

Slipping down inside a crystal chandelier
red rouge cheeks running on through
breathe as visions settle in my mind
you're just a little bit of nutty
with an apricot perfume
quite exceptional I do say
a kindred spirit bouquet

Teasing along the tip of my palate
caramel gaze of grandeur glows
as you kiss my parched lips away
partaking a perfect compliment
in every simple way
sparkles spill in anticipation
topping off a pleasant kind of day
