Sin of Sloth

Much needs to be done,
The mind sees these,
Days are past gone,
The body is on the lees.

The mind’s door is opened,
There’s a stream of ideas,
What’s closed is reopened,
He wished he had the Midas.

Premium Member Ode To Fiber Optics

Fiber optics make such gorgeous Christmas trees
Enhance silk flower arrangement in a variety of degrees
Used in medical operations if you please.
Help phone signals according to my cousin Lees.
I wish I could wear them up and down my sleeves.

A transgender person from Lees,
Undergoing the "change" by degrees,
Faced the final decision,
Ere the final incision,
Should she sit or stand up when she pees?

Hiho

Mahi mahi shrimp gumbo,
we'll sing the sailor's song--hiho!

We're off to sail the outter lees,
We'll row and row to catch the breeze,

Then wander 'round the Florida Keys
Past water spouts and hazy seas.

So, mahi mahi shrimp gumbo,
Come sing the sailor's song--hiho!

I Still Do Dread This Air

I do dread this air
Blown from the far side
of despair
With that still hearth
Rusting unburnished
Among those barren crags
Never to shine use after use
Living life to the lees
Though much is taken
Though many abide
Whose mere margin fades
While that great world
grows weak and old
I still do dread this air...

Take Arms Against Adversity

Punctured psyches leak their essence out,
Seized by fear, diminished by the lees;
Courage, perforated by the brain’s fool doubt,
Unreservoired, cascades towards Death’s black seas.

Dyke your valor, dam your pooled-up will!
Panic breaches sea-walls in your heart.
Brave the craven ocean’s salty chill
Till cowardice recedes, its tides depart.

Pill of Life

‘Go dominate all,
Animals of humanity
And all found within…’
 Are words of divinity!

Praying inside me,
Contented being in thee,
As pill of life tends to be,
Swallowed thrice per day,
And twinkles with soul met,
For attractive aroma of the inlet!

Cranking chapter lees,
Mental intellect bees,
Pill magnificent murmur!
Life set when topsy-turvy.

Premium Member Elixir

In twilight hours at the edge of void life
Perched on sea shore of foaming strife
With unfilled cup of fulfillment in hand I see
Dusky desires reach the drowning horizon.

The last spectrum of sunburst ecstasy
Surges on the stream of gold on the sea
In my enraptured eyes it turns into elixir
I'll fill my empty cup to drink to the lees.

Venture

In better days of better ways we chanced upon the mind
Of great and grand adventure, of great and grand design
To sail the open seas coursing near and far
Uncharted in the ways, unguided by the stars
At the mercy of the wind we vied the stormy seas
To mount the raging crests and weather in the lees
Onward ever onward past reasons reach we strove
To gather to our breasts the sum of wisdoms trove

Premium Member Windsong

Briny tis vast bethrong
Balsam swept windsong
Droplets align brusque seas
Sailors beware perilous lees

Fickle fathoms she weeps
Discorded notion steeps
Coquet tempest squall
Bounden to celestial call

Sail me matey, harness rein
Envious tis sodden domain
Cast to enchanted sea
Foolhardy, thou may be

Hasten to landlubber true
By chance nary pines you
Submerged in foamy cascade
 Seawaters tis possessive maid

The Last Guy

THE LAST GUY

The music faded, last couple stood momentarily,
Stumbled out while the smoke whisps cleared.
We were reduced to last lees of coffee:
A raincoat man stood uncertainly
Shuffled out with a brief grunt,
Waiter barely turned his head,
Last man drained final dreg,
Fumbled for doorhandle
Holding cold empty cup.
A dark smoky place
No clear way home.
Sad end, sad day.
Sorry for
Him.

Rosh HaShannah for trees,
Full Moon of Wolf howl,
Come as one in the frigid seize,
Jewish logic says "Eat fruit Y'All"!
Relieves our knockin' knees,
A Seasonal Affective Disorder null,
Laughin' moon face tease,
"Eat a Peach!" breaks the spell,
Sing Spring's a-comin'! We's...
Benching "Shecheyanu" in place of a growl,
Savoring fruit juice lees,
Refuting winter's bowel,
By moonshine spirits increase,
"Ahh!" replaces "Uuu!" as our vowel!

Across the Seas of Time

Pine not for the times of yore

and the voices not forgotten

They’ve sailed unto a distant shore

to a land naught misbegotten

They’ve traveled over the golden seas

to a land with choicest fruit

and left the land of mallow lees

and the melodies of lute

on the vigils cliffs we stand

neath the hot and steamy sun

holding hearts within our hand

to those we miss now gone
