My watch stopped during a minute of silence
Stood there for hours, was like a lecture on science
Not that it was boring
Spent my time snoring
My watch alarm woke me, dreamt of nasty lions

I got up and read my verse

Read a limerick that I wrote

He had invited people attend his lecture on degradation of environment
So many people talking about it
No one doing anything...
And I am not ashamed to admit
I am one of them.
Worst part is I am criticising him.
The rules then came to church,
leaving us in the lurch.
No hymns to contribute,
but comes a substitute
as long sermon in place,
lecture to fill the space.
No hymns it seems so lame,
making our worship tame.
Preacher perched on pulpit,
trying to raise spirit
but with no hymns to sing
'tis a sad offering.
