Premium Member drone of a lawn mower

lawn mower drone cuts the silence in half
I can pretend not to hear it
or pretend I like it

A BIRD TO THE GUYS

My neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Horatio Hornblower had a lawn mower that broke on them
And if you smoke pot and your mouth gets dry don’t eat crackers or you’ll choke on them

Typical

The baby cries, continually;
They maybe wet or soiled;
In pain or just sleepy;

Typical

The grass on the lawn;
Grows ever so tall;
Until the lawn mower cuts it down;
Water it down grows cut down;
All this I find odd;

Time To Mow

Now that the weather is getting warm
the grass is growing on this old farm
cutting the hedges and picking up leaves
tall, tall grass, as far as I can see

getting the lawn mower running just right
it's getting old and sometimes it's a fight
checking the oil and filling her up
may finish by evening is she runs alright

My Cat

i bought a lawn mower from my neighbor
the grass is very tall
my cat loves to run around in there
it hasn’t worked since

my neighbor is a lawn mower mechanic
he works far away
he doesn’t have a cat
the grass is still very tall
i wonder if i should buy another mower

i’ve not had good karma from such a device
maybe i will ask my neighbors advice
my cat avoids the neighbor

What is your excuse for not writing today?
Come now, is it…“my Muse has gone away?”
Or …the feeble.” I just have no inspiration?”
A feeble excuse for a lack participation.

Here is a tip tp get your creative pen to flow.
Once it begins to move, it is your show!
Like a powerful lawn mower, the pen will go.
Look at you~creating, writing and all aglow.

Premium Member Living Next To a Lawnmowing Neighbor

The lawn mower next door has ruined my day.
Droning on and on and on louder and uglier than a bee’s buzz.
Constant droooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooning.
Nonstop from seven a.m. to seven p.m. Every Saturday.

Saturday after Saturday after Saturday after Saturday.
Today the lawnmower finally stopped. And it is Saturday!
A police officer stopped by to tell me the sad news.
My neighbor had been murdered; I pretended I did not already know.

Premium Member Summer Day

lemonade, iced tea
the sweet whiff of barbeque
children playing ball
the smell of freshly cut grass
garden fresh vegetables
zinnias in happy colors
robins trilling
the sound of a lawn mower
a buzzing bumble bee
gentle lifting of willow tree branches
tiny bite-sized sandwiches on a pretty plate
parents laughing at a two-year-old's antics
a rooster crowing at three p.m.
children blowing dandelion heads
lively squirrels chasing up trees
smell of a lilac tree
a summer day

Sound and Noise

The sound of rain pattering on the window panes
The noise of a loud lawn mower early in the morning
They both have a different affect on the brain

The sound of good news when one is feeling blasé
The noise of an AR-15 implies that people are running away

The sound of a baby’s first cry let us know there is new life
The noise of a growling dog warns us to not take that noise light

The sound of laughter can be music to the ears
And the noise of chatter diminishes one’s cheer
