Come It Will
Mist sweeps the garden
Settles like Saharan dust
Gold round the lake's edge....

M'Aidez
Though some beware the Ides of March
My mum adds some extra starch
My shirt is like steel
My trousers won't kneel
With the zip as stuck as a larch....

The Ides of March
Saint Patrick feared the Ides of March
So Jesus filled his robes with starch
Saint Patrick said,
"I must be dead!
This coffin feels like sold larch!"...

A Rainy Woodland Morning
The morning lasted all day
Rain dripped off the backs
Of jet-black ravens
Perched in the branches
Of tired ancient larch.
They looked angrily,
More annoyed,
At magpies foraging
Through lonely sentinel bins.
Who didn’t care about rain,
Only about thieving ravens....

Storyteller (Nonet #1)
Shadows cover the bullet by half.
Father buck scavenges berries.
Offspring of His fathers faith.
Man waits high in the larch.
Cumbersome stomach.
Rifle prepared.
Trustworthy.
Patient.
Time.

Tossing the Caber
Thomas was a tosser of the caber
Loved to practice in front of his neighbour
Oh boy how she would blush
When he wiggled his tush
For his caber glowed like a lightsabre
Just a fun write about the Scottish athletic event of tossing the caber which is practiced at the Scottish Highland Games. The caber is usually made of larch wood - it is 5.94 tall and weighs 79kg

I Will Not Give Up
There is hope for me yet
Here I am in your tent
I m ready to be your passionate pet
I will do much as a whole lent.
It is not finished
For the glorious search
I put my all in it
Minding not pains sustained
from the larch.
There is hope for me yet
The angel's letter sent
Impressed on me to air it
For this poetry, my time spent.
