Tick, Tick, Tick

Killing shared values
our lives on death row
Kinship aborted
— the world soon to blow

Jock

Jocks real name was John
Obstacles, many he overcame
Complaining zero, he was my hero
Kinship with Scotland never strayed

led by the hand
held from above

kinship abounds.

Mankind

Master me in all surfaces
point to history written
rules of selection in whim
await doors still re-open
kinship prison of mankind

Fall changes erase

multicolor lights with turkey
delights and kinship.

Brenda, of the Snowcapped Beauty

She can line a cupboard
Better than Mother Hubbard,
And OH Yes! I say,
She can cook gourmet --
Offers sister kinship,
the salt and savor,
of anyone's friendship.

Can animals understand what we say Do they respond to some of our wordplay Is it just instinct Or a wish for kinship A pattern mimicked which they display

Travesty of Sanctity

Daughter, sister,
Wife, mother,
Adjectives of kinship
Are worthy of worship

Markers of purity,
Idols of sanctity,
Yet victims of atrocity!
Strange cozenage of sanctity!!

Analogies always

Build better broadcasts

Cause we prefer kinship

Descriptive meanings

O, how we adore ample analogies!

Either Nor - Neither Or

Politics
the wedge
that splits
our kinship
Trapping
what we feel
inside
our thoughts
Mutually
excluding
what fate
has destined
Zero sum
prison
allegiance
—bought

Life Wasted Cm

Past the house I once longed about

With naughty kids giggling -

These, forgotten in city’s race

An intoxication

Where power play consumed my time

That true kinship-- I lost.

gathered ‘round the table
smiles match, a kinship
develops in an instant
when Trust makes an entrance
dressed in fiery blue
souls warm then weave together
our differences subside
as Trust sits down to dine

I feel like we could
sing one of those righteous
civil rights anthems.

“We shall overcome”
goes to the pandemic point,
and we could hold hands.

Our kinship is dear, and earned,
with simple sacrifices.
Our struggle isn’t over.
Form: Senryu

Insurmountable

Such light and inspiration
That stems from words replied
Keeps bright, the shadowed darkness
And makes one feel alive
The message of a kinship
Like a ribbon bright and tied
Leaves this one feeling special
Feelings, not to dare subside

Friends and Family

Petals of friendship,

Thorns of kinship.

A rose without petals

is a world that never snows,

yet, it’s still the same, a rose.

A rose without thorns

is the moon that has never shone,

fading into the background alone.

Premium Member Calf and Boy

Russian calf felt a kinship to the two- legged boy
He snuggled up next to him on the old railroad fence
The boy reached out and gave the calf a gentle pat
They would grow up together, cow and boy
Eventually cow and man; still close, forever friends.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

If actions speak louder than words
Then why are words defined
When to be defined gives precise meaning
Meanings found within dictionary lines
Yet words are projected though voice
Spoken actions of the lips
Or are they truly equal
As they are kinship
Form: Tanka

Giant of Africa

No people will deny kinship
   for instance
    unless they themselves are
    objects to be blamed
      objection comrades
Who will like his/her house to be like gogorobar
like brothel like prison like any culthouse?.
   Yes or no?, who?.
