Jerri had a funny doggie
Who saw his shadow. Yep, so scary!
Barked, “Ribbet”. Sounded froggie?
Jumped high to fly. Would not tarry!
Ran home to nap. Did exit groggy!

Sunshine
i've come a long ways
yet it's not as far
as i have been
the roads a bit wider
the sky a lighter blue
i see things different
than i ever did before
i see the sun
is shining brighter
than ever, ever more

My Little Treasure Box
when i walked into your room
i felt such a peace i
hadn’t felt in a really long time
you smiled and said
jerri i’m so glad to see you
i said i love you so much
the time we spent together
that last day was so special
’i’ve kept it in a
special place in my heart
that i call
my little treasure box...

Life
life the way you see things
is how you see yourself
simple things unnoticed
are right before your eyes
you have to look for rainbows
and things that bring you joy
look way beyond the clouds
there's an endless world
awaiting you to open up inside

Sunset
sunset

the sun on the
ocean illuminates the
sky with deepest orange
the ocean beneath laps
in ever quietly
it is the end of day
and all is calm
overhead a seagull
flies freely
swooping into
land upon the shore
the sun is now setting
the sky's changed
forever more

Over the Rainbow
over the rainbow

somewhere over the rainbow
is sometimes beyond the blue
the colors of the rainbow add
a splash to all of our lives
bringing us happiness, sadness
some almost always
unexpected emotion that
touches us to our core
reminding us that great
things come out of trials
and they are to be treasured

Home of the Free and the Brave
Home of The Free and the Brave

The 4th of July is a
special time to
remember with parades
picnics, family and friends,
but what touches me
most is to hear the
Star Spangled Banner.
To sing of the Star
Spangled Banner
yet Waving and,
To know that I
live in the Home,
of The Free
and the Brave
brings me to tears,
every time I
hear it sung.

Quiet Place
when it gets to be to much
i just have to go away
the noise is screaming
way to loud
i can't think beyond my head
i take myself to a quiet place
where no one else can go
it's ever so peaceful
i go to places that take
me beyond all that's
going on
i float, i glide
i just enjoy the ride
just thinking about my
quiet place almost takes me there

Awaiting Sunset
Awaiting sunset, one by one the colors fill the sky
hues of fuchsia and orange etched in the clouds
paint a picture more beautiful than life itself
as the whitecaps lap onto the shore with fury
anticipation begins to grow awaiting sunset
and all of the splendor that it will bring
across the horizon the sun begins it descent
as night begins to fall marking days end
as the sunset becomes the sunrise
above and beyond the distant horizon
