Cosmetics

Now if I mascara this,
Add some red lipstick,
Color blonde in my hair,
Botox if I dare,
Would I make me lovely, indeed,
Or profits for the cosmetic industry?

Premium Member All Up In Smoke

The marijuana industry, growing like a weed
'til Amazon moves in, on Jeff Bezos' jet-black steed
He'll ink a contract which will plant the seed
For Amazon, this new industry to bleed...
Form: Epigram

Premium Member Careful What You Wish For

There once was an ambitious man named Eddie,
who wanted a job in the traveling industry.
The genie granted his wish,
but Ed never expected this;
an employer's note saying, "Welcome to the DMV!"
Form: Limerick

Western Poem

Over there in the West,
Sun rarely sets,
Three thousand miles,
Social media smiles,
There's our Oz mining industry,
One power-that-be,
Pacifist lives here,
Way too much Uranium, no cheers!

Premium Member What Happened To Smoking

So what happened to the cigarette industry Are they all on welfare, did they join the infantry Bet they never thought The bonanza would stop We smartened up stopped dying rapidly
Form: Limerick

Premium Member Sequels

They're almost never as good
sort of like sloppy seconds.
But the industry loves them,
the brand is established and
the public flocks in greater numbers
to see what they know is coming.

Industrializations End

Farming
Life, Martha mills
took over. Industry
certain pay check, minimum wage
People could do an honest days hard work
to feed their families. Prosper
and grow mill town, before
the certain END...
Farming

Premium Member Emergency

The medical industry has come a very long way When you used to call “emergency” they'd pull up in a sleigh Two guys in mukluks Asked for ten bucks Then as you hopped on, asked if they should hurry

Premium Member Death As Industry

How can it be
That a businessman
Running the country
Is taking money
From people in need
Rebuild reuse and rectify
The mistakes of others
In a funny way
Trump is a trip
But we need
Smaller government
And military

Rondelet: Be Charitable

Be charitable
Employer of rich paper waste
Be charitable
Statistics make high-ups noble
Pulp industry makes rich thick paste
More you give the more the distaste
Be charitable

Premium Member Going the Limit

Scientists are expending time and energy
to invent a flushless water toilet.
But why stop there? Why not go the limit
by eliminating the need to go at all?
Or would the paper industry
take “tissue” with that possibility?

Premium Member We-At-Her Shower

days have been hot
...and dry but now...

mother nature is cooling
...what was cooking...

within her reign by tears
...of joy for all that blooms...

but(t) industry will keep polluting
...giving mother nature her fever...

Premium Member Of Men and Women

    In measured strides men step
    one, a champion of industry
    another, desperately treading water
    no matter, their pursuit being
      the holy grail of existence…

as women dig in, to man the
    barricades of hearth and soul

The Vintner

His stock is rosy red, his nose
Blood-hound sensitive;
Cabernets, Chardonnay,
Muscadet; Bacchus of the industry!

Rolling the names around his tongue,
leaving no Chateau or wine unsung:
 Chateau Lafite, Chateau Latour,
Chateau Mouton, Chateau Margaux.
Form: Verse

Like Gases From An Industry

The offence he committed
He finally admitted,
After his case file was submitted
And witnesses’ evidence permitted …
Also, the money has he remitted
And the name of his accomplice vomited.

Still his movement is much limited
Like gases from an industry emitted.
Form: Rhyme

Premium Member Warm Bricks

Stop and put your hands
on the warm bricks
of an old factory
where the sounds
of industry growing
can often be felt.
Massive belts turning,
sparks flying, steam spewing
and the tales of workers
struggling to prosper
in this magnificent experiment
called America

Premium Member Trickle-Down Economics

Nope, benefits for the wealthy does not
trickle down to middle-class
and the poor, that's nonsense.

Enriching captains of industry? Please.
What about the little guys?
They deserve a leg up!

Premium Member Diddy

The devil is
what the devil is

the devil does
what the devil does

why blame Diddy
for what one accepts,
the cravings of a shallow ego?

Hollywood-fame comes with an
industry price

sort of like sitting on a subway
seat, where last sat a commuter
covered with lice --

Urban Leaves

Urban Leaves,
Fall from the tallest of branches.

Industry Autumn,
Shaking off old to make new room.

Factory Fauna,
Once so green they have faded.

Urban Leaves,
They are left brown & shattered at the tree's base.

Poor barren tree, so many leaves leaped.

Spring soon comes.

Premium Member I had the neurosurgeon do a little utility work in my head

I had the neurosurgeon do a little utility work in my head.
The electricity in there had somewhat gone dead.
And the duct that dripped a driblet of water on my brain ~
she was able to fixed with great industry and pain.
But as to how that foul gas smell got there ~
she was at odds to explain.

Premium Member Industrial Beasts

Once, the sounds of industry,
giant leather belts squealing,
gears grinding, endless pounding,
steam billowing, strong aromas
emanated from factories holding
the dangerous machine beasts,
tended by, tired,malnourished,
men, women and children
shackled to their charges
by chains of poverty
