Premium Member Inarticulate Goodbye

Sweet sun is setting scarlet as red fruit on high,
In a sizzling beauteous exit-apple pie in the sky!

Silent Voices

External conflict
(versus)
self-disaffection

The first a misdemeanor
(the second)
a higher crime

Inarticulate
powerful yearnings
trapped in between

Inarticulate
powerful yearnings
—of that forever lost

(Dreamsleep: August, 2022)

Inarticulate

We never stop hoping
as if an incorrigible child
drowning in starry skies
watching confetti constellations
tumble into broken dreams
Wonder is nebulous
and never ceases to let go
even when rainbows melt
into colorless crayons of contempt
as we smear our wrinkled scars
across an inarticulate moon

And there they are
as if it were their duty to bloom
... like slow notes on a piano
from the depths of earth
suddenly rising
to fill the world with grace.

Much like writing a poem
a duty to ourselves
... inspired moments
bare, inarticulate strands
nuanced over time
suddenly rising
bursting onto the page.

Indifference

What difference does my endless pool of excuses make?

Do I not realize that my inarticulate sigh of agony
is diluted in a sea of decomposing silence,
with negative noise foaming at the pores of particle nonsense,
and false memories of perfect bliss,
in the process of reducing me
 to utterly insignificant screeching?

Lving

You’re warmer than a sultry summer’s day
and softer than my beloved blanket
physically we lay side by side, while
spiritually our souls vibrate across the universe.
Nothing can remove me from this holy moment.
Pure and wordless, inarticulate sentiment
spills straight from the heart
two humans into angel form
we have come around full circle

coagulation

the words coagulate, stuck
in the back of my throat, I choke
on the words I cannot seem to
acknowledge, articulate, remember.
aphasia commandeers my body as her vessel
inarticulate and mute
and in so much pain
but she doesn't seem to care.
when it matters all the soliloquies falter
and stumble from my lips, lame
and inadequate
like everything else i touch.

Implacable

The moon titled her head
and went inarticulate
in black and white.

Seeding the earth with
stupor, undoing my?
poem in water.

An asteroid crashed in
my blue lake. Sit beside me,
I would say to a songbird.

The cardinal sin was
to abandon the throne
and climb down at night.

What was the designer’s
love, I will ask, when I
was preparing myself for a self-denial.

Dry Spell

I’ve been pumping the handle but it’s spitting out dust.
I grind away my eraser until the ferrule rips the empty page.
In the back of my mind, fragments pile up in a heap of worthless used parts.
Running my hand across every rough surface, every smooth groove, feeling every bump and every gorgeous imperfection; but my heart shrinks like leather in the sun, pulling taut my right hand, rendering it inarticulate. How does a doubter pray for rain?

Awakening

Lost and inappropriate,
my lips spoke trivialities,
my hapless heart was inarticulate.
Fearfully I fumbled through
my hazy days, spoiling opportunities,
urgently hoping they wouldn't pick me.
A wraith within a wraith, I flittered by
commitment like a man without a plan;
I only knew the pleasures of denial,
'til I was pushed into the present by
a crushing ultimatum, compelling me
to find my way alone, now I greet
each morning with a smile!

Beyond Words

Can you grasp the need I have One that overtakes me each day Yet you remain just out of reach Allowing only fingertips to touch When I want to feel you pressed tightly against me in passion Teasing my being so gently Provoking ecstasy beyond words My soul cries out to yours My essence utters inarticulate sounds calling out to yours Needing, in urgent want the anticipation overpowering Leaving me shakened beyond words

Shaken Beyond Words

Shaken Beyond Words Can you grasp the need I have One that overtakes me each day Yet you remain just out of reach Never quite touching When I want to feel you pressed tightly against me in passion Teasing my being so gently Provoking ecstasy beyond words My soul cries out to yours My essence utters inarticulate sounds as it cries out Needing, an urgent want the anticipation overpowering Leaving me shakened beyond words

Awakening

Drifting, misappropriated,
my lips spoke trivialities,
my hapless heart was inarticulate.

Fearfully I fumbled through
each day, frittering opportunities,
fervently hoping they wouldn't pick me.

A wraith within a wraith, I flittered by
commitment like a man without a plan;
I only knew the pleasures of avoidance,

'til I was pushed into the present by
a crushing ultimatum, compelling me
to find my way alone, now I greet
each morning with a smile.

In monysllables; in almost inarticulate speech
The murmer of life awakes my thought
Patterns impress upon my conciusness
Filagree of tree branches on the ground
Rumble of traffic a sound in staccato
All nessesary movement; cat and mouse I
Sense, the fear; I shudder at a fervid pleasure
See the ice cream van, and the twin-set lady
Demure reposing, a reflecion of the impossible
Days demand; invade; the scenes I survey
I smooth out the twenty dollar bill; again
And consider.'
