Southern Cross

A young kangaroo pickpocket
Got nabbed when she tried to hock it
But Joey saw
Sex in the raw
And damned if he did not cock it!

Pub Or Tea

A teenage girl defied her ma
And went downtown without her bra
But no boys were there
And girls did not care
What a dud thrill "Life in the Raw"!

Love Is Blind

Love is BLIND, sometimes
but if you don't keep your MIND in LINE
you will never be FINE,
if you can't see the FLAW
that needs to be addressed in the RAW.

A Riddle

I will make you addicted but im not against the law.

Im stronger than any street drug you'll find in the raw.

I'm evil. I'm spiteful. I dont play by the rules.

cause even when you win. You still really loose.

 What am I?

In the Tense

Smothering white innocense
Soft as the fur above the paw
And we forssook our defense
To print tracks of joy in the raw
Cold freedom of your sweet pile
Until the sun differently shows
Our fairy fantasy in its hot defile
Emotion melts like sudden snows

A Streaker

She couldn't unsee what she saw.
Frozen in shock, she dropped her jaw
           Quickly averting her eyes;
          Her blood pressure did rise!
Protester took to the field in the raw.

Angst

Some girls have no need for a bra
And dread being seen in the raw
But some boys don't care
If bras conceal air
Providing girls don't tell their ma

Not many folk know that the Bronx
Is phonetic spelling of "branks"
It keeps her trap shut
No and if or but
Female voices just become honks

The Bawdy Christmas Ball

The Christmas ball saw them all in the raw
Snow folk danced naked that everyone saw
Snowballs and snowboobies
And the snowmens moobies
But it ended when they started to thaw.

Prior to Intent

hovering in limbo
ideas strewn about
lacking sense or reason

images suspended in mid air
notions and impressions
floating and colliding

vague feelings in the raw
idly drifting meet their match
simmering a stance

before long ...
thoughts are forming notions
interpreting and framing
and a plan's laid out for action

The Law Is Raw

THE LAW IS RAW AND IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY FLAW.
SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN STORE, GALORE?

AND SO, JUST LET IT POUR; SOAR; ALSO SCORE? I MEAN THE LAW
FOR I HAVE  NO CORE (HEART),  IF I CAN'T STAND UP WITH  THE LAW, FOR THE LAW;
AND PLUS TO THE LAW, THAT'S RAW.

AND SO, WHAT DO I DO WITH THE LAW, THAT'S RAW? USE IT TO SEE MA FLAW? OR JUST IGNORE IT? SIMPLY BECAUSE, I CAN'T ACCEPT THE IT IN THE RAW.

Overdone

Surrender to be free
Shut your eyes to see
Saying yes to hear no
Finding love by letting go

Being fast for a slow burn
Satisfy to always yearn
Whisper low high scream
Waking into a daydream

Being first for last place
Losing to win the race
Asking why when you know
Falling up through a hole

Hurry up and wait
Leaving early to arrive late
Working hard for fun
In the raw overdone

Summer Cooking In the Raw

Listen to poem:
everyone is outdoors
sitting in the shade
with a gentle breeze wafting
the aroma of summer cooking
mingling with the scent of flowers
a sunset serenade of smells and tastes
on a hot summer evening
the menu pairs with the setting:
light and delicate
fresh and crisp
tangy and tantalizing
colorful and flavorsome
topped with flowers and fresh herbs
a shared summer repast
appetite quenching in the raw

Mrs Rast Goes Nuts With Color

Her husband wanted everything blah.
He loved tans, grays, and whites in the raw.
She was sad for a few weeks when he passed.
But then someone said “It is your chance, Mrs. Rast.”

She started out small with two colors – red and blue.
They boded well, so she added gold and silver too.
Her house is filled with colors that she loves; it doth glow.
Heavenly husband says wistfully, “I wish this had always been so.”

Sleeping Raw

I open my eyes, and you stare at me in awe. Have you never seen anyone sleep in the raw? It is a mid-summer night that is quite sultry. With no air conditioning, this is the way to be. I am spending the night naturally. There is nothing to wear that would encumber. This is the way many other people slumber. Lady, why don't you come and lay beside me? First, tell me, do you like what you see?

Pieces of a dream

Now and then things remind me.

Of a time, none could find me.

And the place where your eyes did.

In the raw candor of summer.

Where wine and secrets poured.

Out of your mouth.

Into a somnium reverb.

As the night pandered to our primitive urge.

Earth tones under moonlight.

Revealed native lips that held soft replies.

Laced with magic of their own.

No wonder flowers called them home.

In the Raw Like We Were Animals

He that stalks like the prey
Holy steps he takes towards me
Sniffing at the sour air, claiming my scent he travels on

He that struggles with me in a clothes fight
Tearing, ripping undergarments to dignity
Ravishing me like some form of beast

He that makes my heart pound
Drumming my pulse one stroke at a time
Creating a ungentle rhythm

He that my body calls to
Loudly with stares no words
How I wish of him to devour me

Between The Lines - excerpt

Stirred.
Blurred.
Deferred.

A haze of thoughts.
In the raw.
Unprocessed unpolished.
Ethereal feral.
Impulses really.

I might drown.
A sea of ambiguity.
Random content
in my private universe.

At times, I want to scream and be heard.
But all in time that can’t be rushed ~

My Love Is a Crime

I don't know if you can love me for who I am
I don't know if you can love me for the way I am
Oh I'm just finding my soul
Oh I got so much to know
Oh, oh, oh, I got so much to grow
I'm not a dime in a dozen like you say
Too me I'm a diamond in the raw since my hey day
I wish you wouldn't see the worst about me all the time
because that makes loving you my hell and my crime
I don't know if you can love me for who I am
I don't know if you can love me for the way I am

Contours Cyhydedd Fer Sonnet

Contours make a fool of your eyes,
shadows smile wearing a disguise.

Split-second metamorphosis,
too quick to ever reminisce.

That alabaster train floating,
the gal with her sweetheart doting.

What was it I thought I just saw?
Blink and miss nature in the raw.

Paint-drops on the world around us,
broken polish will cause a fuss.

Shivering when they juxtapose,
a mirage of silhouettes grows.

With the Earth’s rotating vision
blurry lines find their precision.

Ennui of Serenity (Rewrite)

Flowers, delicate, serene flowers
Bah-
Give me something with power!
Roar of fighting cats,
An eagle soaring toward prey,
A black cloud of vampire bats!

The happy, tinkling bells
of a winter sleigh,
Nay-

Give me a wolf's prowling howl
A hurricane come to land!
The hyena eating a thing so foul,
Nature in the raw, wholly unplanned!

* Inspired by Poetry Soup's own Ashok Niyogi and his poem ENNUI
