The Hush of the Crowd of Two
Who cares to join me?
He hollers to 25 heathens moaning,
Jingle jangle goes the zipper,
Denim at the ankles,
Bundled in a bunch,

The hush of the crowd of two is heard....

Julius Jaggery Jones
Had an ache deep in his bones
Sang the blues for nickels and dollars
In mellowest of baritones.

Julius Jaggery Jones
Seated on street cobblestones
Paid his dues in groanings and hollers
Delivering back alley moans....

Mourning Dew Drop
. for public domain

Each teardrop from her cheek,
bore her grief,
and grazed the coffin near the altar.
The grange hall chapel was so quiet.

A few hollers away,
on her porch,
she weeps beside an empty chair,
in shadows of tall grassy knobs....

Premium Member You Can Sure Tell it is Halloween
It’s a hippo!
It’s a flying boy!
It’s a teen!
Someone hollers with joy.

It’s smartly dressed.
It is so well groomed!
It is flying high.
Without a plane or broom.

You can sure tell it is Halloween
Yelled the Jack-o-lantern and pumpkin queen....

Hills and Hollers
Hills And Hollers.
Old Dog Collars.
Is All He Has, From His Youth.
Pelts From Some Skunk.
Rusted Farm Trucks.
That's All He Sees, In His View.

Old Cream Can, At The End Of The Drive,
That Holds His Mail Box.
Once In A While, Someone Will Stop By,
To Ask About, His Ole Pet Fox....

my nephew
my nephew

Twinkle twinkle little star, I see what a wonder you are
Laughs and cries, screams and hollers
Oh what a scholar, you are
I see the sea in your eyes
That once were mine.
Sail through and wide
For you, and your heart
You are great things, keep that mind.
For you, the world is yours
And you are mine.
For you all is kind....

Premium Member The Forgiving Charter
The blaze surrounds me
as if I jumped into an ocean of plasma.
Though Jesus came to me with the
The Forgiving Charter.

A ship filled with damaged souls
all within his grasp of love.
He steers this vessel
surrounded by admiring angels and doves.

An outreached hand into the heat,
showing scars beneath his palm.
I accept him and welcome the hope;
The melting stops, the hollers no longing alarm.

Together we sail into the light...
God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and me....

Premium Member Accidentally Wore Pjs To School
Accidentally wore my flannel pajamas to school this morning
No one noticed, or if they did, they didn’t say
But wait. Some of them are wearing their pajamas too.
I squint my eyes. It looks kind of like pajamas.
Maybe they are all wearing their pajamas.
It is not like we are not covered up because we are.
Nice pajamas! Someone yells. I wave.
Great pajamas! Another person hollers.
There is a pattern here, and I am loving it.
I am the most popular woman in the hallways today....

Under the Glow
Under the glow of the full moon
shadows seem to come alive around the haunted house
The limbs on the trees hit the glass
while hollers are heard from the baboon

an eerie sound like screams
reverberate through the empty halls
as if calling for you to enter inside
you turn to run wishing it's a dream.

The lights inside make it look like day
As the mansions, doors open wide
A big ghost dressed all in black
bids you adieu and turns to walk away

Premium Member Death Is Life
rejuvenation at the utmost flavor
flying toward my future assignment
angels try to stop me
they do not recognize my impulsivity
until I get closer

wings appear and that aura
mine is pink this time
I had been hoping for orange
the gates slam shut
not so fast my guardian hollers
he has to cut the silver cord

my life review is terrific
so many wonderful moments
my alzheimers had slammed them shut
and locked them away
but here I am again
refreshed and ready to begin anew...

Premium Member Ocean Fog
The ocean fog spreads,
An opaque, eerie veil.
It wraps the town in mystery,
And murmurs secrets to the gale.

The sea crashes on the shore,
Rumbling a detached sound.
The foghorn hollers somberly,
As the hazy clouds surround.

The seagulls fly effortlessly
Showing the mastery over the blur.
They float in the foggy air
And disappear in motionless hover.

The blanket of the ocean fog,
An elongated, powerful silence.
It lingers in the mind's eye,
And fires a poetical movement....
