like Holland without dyke,
like army without ammo,
like birds without wings,
is our world bereft of

She would love to laze around on hot sand

Two Lips In Amsterdam
Phyllis Upman was a young maid
When she learnt the rules of her trade:
Show men what they want
Behave nonchalant
And be sure to pull down the shade!

Amsterdam is a more popular
tourist attraction than tulips ...

Late Spring
Spring came late that year
As I looked for love
I searched in England
And in Mexico
Even in old France

Maybe Holland
Or Germany
Shanghai perhaps
Or in Russia

Then it came
Why so far
Look nearby

Next door
I found

That is in Jesus's love
Sent from up above.

Now I have God in my heart
We will never part.

Holland’s glorious tulips amid windmills
Enticing the best nutrients from her gown,
Arriving two months after the daffodils,
Gorgeous colorful tulips do take her crown.
Parade of these beautiful flowers gives me chills.
Nature never lets anything slow her down.

Perfect Excuse
Perfect Excuse

We finally found a perfect excuse
50th anniversary and going on a cruise
On Holland America well known
For being a place we call our own
No longer ourselves will we abuse.

Leaving this morning for two weeks
See lovely beaches and tall peaks
Best views that we ever had
And going on we are very glad
Seagulls sang songs through their beaks.

Brewed In Holland
Brewed in Holland

Ah the land of Orange
In the land where the blond daises
Drinking in heat waves,
Sharing smiles and holding hands,
Rescuing black, dirty hearts
And then they fall apart and only pity kisses
Hold them together.
Love is brewed
And love is drunk,
In love together,
Whatever there is together
And kisses each other,
Only to kiss at Death’s feet
In those later years....

Hans tried this save as a tike -
Episodic finger in the Holland-days dike.
Not afraid to swim.
See-through stranger didn’t spook him.

Friendly Casper scared the boo out of all,
Spared the scaredy-cats with a window y’all.
They see through the glass magnified fishes.
The aquarium, a dutch treat for all their wishes.

She came out and saw
She smiled, I said duh
Took a photo with her less my brain

They were snowy white with streaks of hot flesh
From Holland, of course, hybrids with a fancy name
We other tulips felt plain and boring next to them
Where were they being planted? I stretched to see.

Sighing in relief when I saw they were in the next bed.
It was bad enough I had to share with the morning glories.
And the tiger lilies and the bleeding hearts.
I did not need any more serious competition...

Limerick: There Once Was a Man From Holland
There once was a man from Holland
who waved so much he broke his hand
for he was popular in his land
so on his hand he wears a band
to greet his fans in Holland land .
