Came, and went. That's it.
Too soon, I guess it was too soon,
She took her affection away with her,

You would think I'd leave every kind of woe
in the by and by and the long ago,
and each awful, agonizing pain,
I'd never want to live over again.
Yet, when I recall my young heart broke in half,
I softly chuckle, sigh, and laugh.
Her loving mother heart broke at the longing in his eyes,
Such monumental sadness for a little one his size.
With big tears running down his face, he took the gift from her,
The cotton stuffed puppy with non-allergenic fur.

The beauty flower withered
