the lightness of stones
is a time for poetry...
shhh harks in the soup

do give me goose bumps...
comforting lover...she's boss...
won't be home...christmas

...just feeling divine
for my dearest beloved...
oh she's mad...she's boss...

prong and short of it...
afternoon at the circus...
twenty cents?...thank you...

On My Rocker
Sitting in my rocking chair
I feel myself relax,
A quality that every couch
Or stool or loveseat lacks.

The gentle back and forth harks back
To infancy, perhaps,
When we were rocked while being fed
In moms' and daddies' laps.

No matter what the reason
There is nothing to compare
To an hour spent unwinding
In my comfy rocking chair....

This One Tall Whale
This one
Tall whale
Squirts bad sperm
Marine girls beware
It will give you teratology
In your womb
Plant seeds
Of extinction
I can't breathe sea harks
Up the creek
Krill die
Evil. We cannot ride high
No high lands
Water everywhere
No water
Water is fiend
Rats ‘congress
In dead-end streets.
Hey, Call it a day
Time to die.

Cc
When sending a copy of mail
To another, you really can’t fail
If you CC the name
Of the person you aim
To receive it; attempts will prevail.

Unless, though, your age is like mine,
CC might be tough to define
For it harks to a time
Carbon paper was prime
If to copies your work did incline.

So when CC or BCC’s pressed
And your duplicates sent by request
Take a moment to think
How this long ago link
To the typewriter has been addressed....

Cherry blossom swells my heart
Harks those that stroll on by
Each year I hear the same
Relish every word, 'tell me more' I cry
Rush of pride, fills me limb to limb
You'll return again, this isn't a goodbye

But the wind blows and the rain falls
Leaves me in a mess
Oh how fleeting this love was
Such sorrow to express
Seeking another kindred soul
On my own now I guess
My time will come around again

On the Side Streets
Staying in a neighborhood
Where locals live and shop
Gives a taste of life beyond
Where all the tourist buses stop.

Discovering a small cafe
And breakfasting outside
Opens up a little window
To a place where folks reside.

Of course, the highlights beckon -
The museums and the parks,
The monuments and buildings
From which history still harks.

But there's something very special
When you start and end each day,
On your travels, like a native,
In an unassuming way....
