We were eating a jackfruit

Came as the unwanted guests.

The squirrels' desire emphatic
To airbnb in the attic
Means a landlord may leave
Hors d'ouevres in the eave
That make their guests aromatic
Feelings…
like wisps of cobwebs clinging,
cannot be shaken away.
They lie there,
unwelcome and unbidden,
Like unwanted guests come to stay.
About toilet paper guests swipe
The staff at hotels have a gripe
They say steal it not
But buy one-ply Scott
Which won’t wipe out home’s sewage pipe
How groovy my little guests were,
They vanished like vapor, I swear;
It took time to catch on,
I saw them in the lawn
Crunching on Mildred's cadaver.
A refreshing pitcher of lemonade.
Invited several old friends to drop in.
No bitter lemons among us.
