Nichole

Needing my guidance
In everyday life
Child of mine
Happy moments we embrace
Over our little mistakes
Lessons in life you learn
Every day growing older

We Will Rock You

WE WILL ROCK YOU

Growing older
Pushing his boulder
Sisyphus retired to the valley
And there he yearned
To be the ball return
In the bowling alley

No fighting growing older
life slows down for no one
unexpected changes occur daily

Shedding one act in life for another
I slowly but surely become
all that God has created me to be

September Leaves

September leaves come tumbling down. Twirling, whirling. Tumbling down. September leaves all colors too. Red, yellow, orange All colors too. September trees all dyeing out. Growing older. Dyeing out

Premium Member GROWING OLDER VS GROWING OLD

There is a way to tell if we are just growing older
or truly growing old…
or so I have been told….

If we’re still having fun each year we are just growing older
when we stop having fun…that’s when we grow old.

Growing Older

For I am growing older you see
It's not easy to be me
Now that I am sixteen
I'm not gonna waste my time
On lost endless rhymes
I'm gonna free myself
And say what I want
For writing poetry is my passion
And what I can't live without

Emptying the Reserves

Growing older, one observes
That energy starts waning.
Though it’s not what one deserves,
There’s no use in complaining.

Aging throws us learning curves
To deal with verve that’s draining.
When nothing’s left in the reserves,
It’s time for some refraining.

Short days turn into weeks
months melding into years
ever endless changes
the numbers and the fears

new things growing older
wisdom’s elders cast aside
for aging is the future
youth cannot abide.

Growing Older

A thought from an erstwhile visionary,
We came from another century,
How can we grow old disgracefully,
Or not?
The seniles that time forgot,
Peter Pans on Pot!
Obese, gaga or dead,
Silliest verse you've ever read,
Didn't we come from another century?
Now, let's grow old disgracefully!

Growing Older

Trouble
                                   Scary, Fun
                          Running, Slipping, Falling
                  Magnetic, Frenzied, Smooth, Glassy
                         Breathing, Smiling Laughing
                                 Restful, Calm
                                        Peace

The Big Five-O

Always wear thongs when you’re fifty
and let those buttocks bounce
Don’t give a jot ‘bout your wobbly bot
Just flounce that extra ounce
No twin-set and pearls
nor hair in tight curls
just denim and boots
And disguising your roots
Not growing older
Just bigger
And bolder
Keep a smile on your face
And grow old in dis-grace!

So Long Buddy

dreaming friend
like the chancing days of wind
if i could draw his breath
so sad to watch my friend
growing older
growing colder

don't forget your feelings
spare a thought for me
i am not a startled stranger
something more than typewriters are needed
to record the personal touch
introspection is not an option

Ageism

The heart of the matter, is age.

More specifically, my age.

I'm too old to assign blame,

there's no longer any point.

The 'me' there is will have to stay,

growing older, devouring energy,

till the myth of the Mass is complete,

and the first law takes me home.

I have age induced cynicism,

It's fatal to dreams.

Autumn
Trees bare of leaves
Woods aflame with color
The spectre of winter draws near
Mother Earth steadily growing older
White pelicans migrating south
Flower petals start to wilt
Soothing cool breeze

Streets of Battles

Asking if we will ever see our parents again.
This alleys are getting colder.
For these bones are growing older.
With the maggots that lie on my shoulder.
I will never accomplish my plans.
Instead I will just kick this old brown can.
For these baby blue skies are turning devilish black.
These nails are clawing my back,
And make me bl**d

Parrots

When you growing older
The ugly parrots of birthdays
Delightfully remind your age
You tell them shut up
They cry out loudly
Once these parrots
Were sweet nightingales
Singing nicely on the early days
Twenty one
Twenty two
Twenty three
And now with a nasty voice
As boaster parrots
Break your eardrums
Sixty three
Sixty four
Sixty five.

Growing older

I am so often here these days:
sitting,
looking, thinking.

I crave stillness,
but things are always on the move,
are never going to stop.

Perhaps it is a condition
of growing older,
to be afraid of change,
to be afraid of what change means.

But I still sit here,
still watch, still ask,
over and over,
where these waters are going.

Building Hope With Funs Release

Building hope with funs release
Two boy's playing soldier toy's
battle's raging hard and fast
crying monster's trees and clay
growing older come what may

summer day's collecting fun
racing laughing playing run
quickly over hills today
fighting walking friendly games

life move's on
thru summer fun
children rising free

life becomes
summer fun

Growing Older

Growing Older

The older I grow
The slower I go.
The more I study
The less I know!

They say this is the norm
As to “maturity” you conform.
So if this statement is not true,
Someone please inform!

I suppose I should now refrain
From continuing to complain.
It accomplishes no pleasant end,
There’s nothing therein to gain!

I Grow, I Watch, and I Learn
An old man growing older
Less Likely to Live, then die
Tomorrows’ Sorrows

HIS LOVE floats o’re the Garden
HE Created, HE Enjoys :
I hear the sound of growing
Thank-YOU for YOUR Time

“I happened to be a Child”
When I heard, of YOUR demise
I ask myself “ FOREVER “
LOVE LENORE , ALWAYS??

Old Fashioned Dating

Meeting fine ladies was much harder back then
No online dating, just a case of “where and when”

A direct approach: ask her out to her face
If it all goes wrong, you look like a disgrace

You ask her to join you for a meal
Perhaps a famous restaurant, using a two-for-one deal

If a date goes nicely, you meet up again
The history of chasing ladies for us “growing older” men

Birthday Number 15, April 9th

5- My first year of kindergarten,
Daddy sends me off to the world
(Or so he says, but I know I'll be coming home at three)

10- I'm growing older and I got a little bit taller too.
 I think boys have cooties
(Well, don't they?)

15- I'm not quite there yet (but I'm pretty close)
Birthdays are stupid now, because I'm feeling old.
My brother is only nine, and now I'm nearly fifteen.

A Moment In Time

Time that is pacing which will soon change
The many day of life that seem to flow toghter
Papers wasted which seem to pile up
Study days seems to stack upon one another

The days seem to fade week upon week
Friends have came and gone
Long time strivning for A's avoiding referalls and tardy days
For Even though were are growing older
Mintues are so precious it seems that we are rushing
